I am reminded somehow of how some directors tried and failed to make Don Quixote. I wonder if there are other film adaptations in that class.

It was a good movie, but it made some drastic changes from the novel. So I think the criticism is somewhat justified there. It's still Lynch though, so it's obviously good.

Going back a bit but the Homeworld games' backstory had heavy shades of Dune, and there was a prequel game that delved pretty deep into Dune territory

Dune Part 2 delayed indefinitely into 2024 because of strike.

I cannot wait for part 2!!!

the person making a 'boom' sound in the audio at 1 or 2 seconds in made me lol when i heard it, especially following those percussive rolls before it. i thought i'd clicked on a shreds/comedy version of the trailer or something.
