the witches don't seem serious enough to me. but i guess it's 10,000 years before DUNE so they're still fumbling around some. i think they're going to lean heavily on spice and the spice child who is dead and "reborn" or as the prophecy says "born again once through blood and once through spice" or whatever was said...  i think it was weird to cast the guy who played the king in GoT as a Harkonen daddy.

there's simply no character i care about; they're awful and they can all die if you ask me lol ...and not a single interesting human or sci-fi idea, at least not yet, but then we're back to awful characters 

and what's with the monochrome future world?! Is there anything else that can look or be boring pls? and again all this endlessly boring struggle for power? so predictable and unimaginative

there's a contrived tension at the base of it.  i agree about not caring too much about any character... the witches seem like the baddies which i guess in some ways is accurate to the vibe we get from the films (haven't read the books).. but i think the only sympathetic character is the sister.. toola or whatever her name is. the other witches in training are all kind of uninteresting and seem like a weird bunch of weak characters sharing a dorm trying to find their way through things.. but i don't really care about them either.. they made the one younger kid who is in the spice tube being looked over by banned technology seem kinda interesting so we'll see.. but overall it sort of seems like they all need to answer the witch karate school version of the question about "what is best in life".. correctly and they are failing miserably.

i saw this just got picked up for a season 2 so that’s cool! i’ve been really enjoying the last few episodes. it’s sure not perfect, & i think the finale is this weekend maybe? so really short series (6 or 7 i think?) if so but each episode is quite dense & pretty lengthy… anyway, i like the series, i like the sets, i like the acting, costumes, music, almost everything is pretty much good to great.

there’s plenty to take issue with ofc but overall i’ve enjoyed the season thus far and i'm looking forward to the next.

The series is still shit… Worse than Gilmore girls!

It is teetering on being a chore to watch.   Sure the twist in the last episode was cool I guess.  I feel like it has been missing something.  Or maybe it is the acting.  Idk.

Hopefully the finale kicks arse.

I seriously can't watch it due to the most punchable face in the world strutting around playing the same role he always does.

my ex loved the GG. it was her comfort food. when some shit happened in her life she would retreat into GG and buffy the vampire slayer binges. i've seen every episode of both those shows more than once or twice. surprisingly the writing in GG was really sharp and witty at times and there's some fun bizarre weirdo stuff and Emily Gilmore was a good character.. and kurt of course.. but total fairytale of a town and complicatedly stupid people.

buffy has pretty bad effects even considering its time.. and the teenage melodrama is not quite lynchian but has its moments and there's funy shit in there and jfc what am i talking about. 

but yeah.. i think GG and Buffy are better constructed than Dune Prophecy.. so far. and the characters are better. i mean.. the girl who died and was reborn of spice and all that was interesting but it still feels like lot's of playing around on a big stage. it's transparent political maneuvering everywhere but there's no tyrian lanister and no 3 eyed raven or blood and boobs. 

but i've watched every episode so far. lol.. because i don't know wtf i'm doing.

no fight needed. not disagreeing w/you. it's well written. snappy. funny. sebastian.. singer from skidrow showing up to be in the band w/Lane is a coup of sorts. Lane showing up in other series i've seen is always nice. like in better call saul as kim's paralegal..  there's a bunch of actors in GG that show up in all kinds of places. sally struthers is hilarious in GG.. but i'd come home and see my GF on the couch kicking off season1 ep 1 and it'd be the start of a thing she'd do instead of therapy.

Was hopeful after the first three. But it went downhill fast. And not for a lack of trying. In a way it reminded me of the star wars prequels. A desperate attempt to turn a big nothing into something. The political stuff felt irrelevant. The people unrelatable (no personality). Not much to care about.

Even though it’s obvious they’re trying really hard. It felt like a lot of effort and competence went into it. But the script just wasn’t right, or something. 

Perhaps i would have like it more if they developed the “thinking machines” story more. Now it feels like a poor excuse for a second season. Too little too late. As if the couple of interesting ideas the writers had might have been good for a single season, but they decided to go for multiple seasons instead. And had to force some filler along the way. Just to make it through a season.
