I got some new info about the project.

He and his team finally found a way to record the material without losing too much of the effect of the music, I don't know the specific detail but i'm guessing 5.1 audio or something like that. Bad news is he still isn't going to release the material because "it's too dangerous".

You know how music is a temporal art form? a series of notes over time (constant, continuum time), well afx managed to manipulate TIME and notes, and he fear of what could happen to the fabric of the universe if time is manipulated in such a massive scale. If you ever feel like suddenly time is being stretched or doing funny things, it's probably richard playing/making his tunes.
