I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

From what I see in the States, I'd honestly say Clark is helping WARP financially a good bit. Him, Squarepusher, and Jamie Lidell are the three that get used the most in adverts and whatnot, so I'd say that's some helpful additional revenue for the label.

Saw Clark Live at Corsica Studios t'other day, this album fucking kills on a big soundsystem! The bass and compression are incredibly fierce and pulsating. Sicko. Saying that though some of his improvisation wasn't so great, drums clashed and momentum was lost. Still very enjoyable though even with the suprise closure at 3am.

Chris Clark we have you surrounded! Put your hands on your head and slowly back away from the compressor.

The audio compression does not disturb me in any way.

seconded

Werd the third. I like this album and the nervous energy it radiates.

anyone else feel like their balls are all buzzing and electrical during penultimate persian

no, thats just your smooth bawls are trying to tell ya .. this clark guy is no good for you.

and this also means that those who like this.. apparentyl have no balls at all.

yes

I thought we agreed on most music....

this to me sounds better than everything else he has done, besides "Throttle Promoter", which is the prologue to the record.......

what is not to like?

I'm kind of disappointed with this album. Though there are plenty of cool and good parts. Like New Years Storm, and Penultimate Persian. Does it seem to anybody that on at least four or five places on this album, it sounds like his is really trying to sound like Aphex? :undecided:

Can't say that I hear that myself.

Try harder.

edit : + Clark's compression is part of his signature, get over it people.

Yea, the chord progression around 2:40 in Turning Dragon. Around 3:00 in For Wolves Crew. Around 2:30 in Ache of the North, the chords and synth. Hot May Slides melody and chord progression reminds me a lot of mu-ziq actually. And especially, the second half of Penultimate Persian.

And yea, I like Clark's production style. It is just different, and suits his music well.

Yea, I was listening to Empty the Bones and Body Riddle last week and those albums are definitely much better. I have no problem with rave style Clark. I thought Dirty Pixie was tur buisness.

I am just disappointed because Clark has such a unique sound not only with his production style, but with his composing technique. And some of it was lost in this album.

Personally I think this is a really great album, especially considering that Clark just considers it an interm album between Body Riddle and the next album.

It’s just kind of like an interim album between that and the next sort of stuff on from Body Riddle. In a way it’s sort of a companion piece to Body Riddle as well

This is a very good album, but I tend to get bored of it quite fast. The melodies are brilliant though (Ache of the North, Penultimate Persian etc.).
