I got 199 pigeons but missed one somewhere......

Got a bit bored of it now, even did the Tetris game. Great MP fun thou, always just free roam with a few friends making up games. One of the best we invented is you get one person to get a fagio and a load of grenades at the airport then everyone else has to try and run him down whilst he drops grenades and weaves in and out of all the parked planes and stuff, best game type ever I expect rockstar will implement it in the next patch.

GTA IV: The Lost and Damned

Here you go - the very first screenshots and plot

  Quote
New York, NY – November 20, 2008 – Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce that the eagerly anticipated first episode of downloadable content, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned, will be coming to the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system via Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network. Available exclusively on Xbox LIVE worldwide on February 17, 2009, The Lost and Damned will feature all new content and is the first of two episodes announced for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360.

“Making these episodes has enabled us to expand the narrative and the experience of interacting with a game world in really innovative ways,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope fans of the game enjoy the new way of experiencing life in Liberty City contained in this first episode.”

Since its launch in April, Grand Theft Auto IV has garnered unprecedented praise and acclaim worldwide. Developed by series creator Rockstar North and set in Liberty City, The Lost and Damned features a new main character and plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV; new missions that offer an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City with new multiplayer modes, weapons and vehicles; and a diverse soundtrack with additional music – all with the incredible production values that are the trademarks of Grand Theft Auto.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned requires players to have the full version of Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE membership to download. Further details, including pricing, will be announced soon. For more information, please visit www.rockstargames.com/IV.

The bank robbery was the coolest fucking thing I've ever done in a video game. Down to the suits and ski masks.

I played it for 5 hours last night. Great, absolutely GREAT DLC. Once again Rockstar Games have managed to create loveable characters, but of course Johnny Klebitz is no Niko Bellic, but this can be excused since the game is only a third of what GTAIV was and therefore have no time for big introductions to the new character. He's a guy who has lived all his life in Liberty City, so there's no need to reintroduce the city and he doesn't need to expand is network. I only got around to completing 5-6 missions, but they seem to be a LOT more action packed and a bit more extreme when it comes to the body count than the ones in GTAIV. One of the very first missions in Lost and the Damned you make the cops come after you but you lure them intro a trap and blow them up. This of course alerts the rest of the force and about 30-40 cops come after you so you (btw. I love the look of the new undercover cops who wear long cottoncoats and sunglasses).

What I really like about Lost and the Damned is that it seems, at least from what I've played so far, a lot darker and the cut scenes so far have been far more violent than in GTAIV. It's also a lot more gritty because of the dirty and dark filter that has been added which helps to create a really great biker gang mood. Also this time around you get full blown male nudity, and I know it seems pointless mentioning it but it's a really awkward situation and just shows how great Rockstar is at creating cinematic and fun cut scenes.

I've got the rest of the week off so I'll probably play it nonstop the next 2-3 days and return with more impressions later.

Anyone explain why the add ons are Xbox only? I remember the good ol days when xbox users would whine they couldnt even play the series :(

Microsoft gave Rockstar Games a big bag of money and made sure they had the rights to the DLC.

i think i heard somewhere that the DLC will eventually come to other platforms, but MS paid them several million for exclusivity...that usually means exclusive for like, 6-12 months, then it gets released everywhere else.

i can't see why rockstar wouldn't want to make the most money possible and completely neglecting their playstation base audience that has kept them going for the last decade would be a silly move.

50 Million.

I don't see wide distribution for a long time.

And there's always so much room for improvement with GTA games... every one just gets better(gameplay wise). Although at first I was pissed the driving is harder(cough) more realistic (cough), once you get it down its so much more fun then the driving in the other games.

the first two dlc episodes are xbox only. they will never be ported to ps3, however rockstar plans on at least 4-5 dlc packs for gta 4, so the other 2 or 3 will come to the ps3. but these first two are xbox only, period. the next dlc has been rumored that it will be niko and johnny teaming up for a co-op dlc, but i doubt it because dan whatever his name is from rockstar has said that he considers niko's story done.

gta 5 wont be coming out till the next gen systems so rockstar is going to expand the liberty city universe for the next year or two.

as for this dlc, 20 bucks is a steal for all the stuff you get. the story line took me 9.5 hours to complete and thats not even doing any races or anything extra. the best new mp mode is chopper vs chopper, one guy on a bike whos trying to get to a checkpoint and another guy in an attack helicopter whos trying to stop the guy from getting to the end. bloody amazing

and i agree with the guy above. i remember thinking after gta 3 that theres no way it could get better. then after vice city i thought, no way they can do better. then san andreas and now gta 4. i mean, gta 5 is going to be unreal. i'd like to see a few cities instead of just one. but we shall see.

Just completed the missions on TLAD at about 75% still got other bits to do like races and gang wars.

Overall I really liked it. Some of the missions were great, the back of the bike shoot them up for example. The ambush at the toll booth and I liked the tie in with the Niko missions as well. Liked it so much I can see myself re-playing the whole GTA IV very soon. Removed the grim filter cause I can't be doing with that. I hated going around on bikes but I put up with it and got myself a nice undercover FIB car as my pimp ride. Worth the cash monies for sure.

I heard they weren't coming out with another GTA until the next systems come out. However, I think they should just keep releasing missions for this one city and improving upon the city. For instance, the one thing I don't like about the franchise is you can do pretty much anything you want and the cops don't do shit. You have to kill someone on the roof of their car or slam into them full speed. I think it'd be much more interesting if you had to abide by some of the rules of the road.
