Recently I've been digging up some of the old NES games featured on the 64-in-one pirate system I used to play as a child. I got all the way to level 05 on Circus Charlie without using savestates, and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting further soon. Also Magic Jewelery, Arkanoid, Space Invaders (NES), Antarctic Adventure and Ice Climber FTW.

If you want a REAL challenge, try Milon's Secret Castle for the NES/Famicom... fucking brutal game. Any of the Adventures of Lolo games count as well.

finished milons secret castle over a weekend when i was 10. i found the game hard only because there is no indication of what you are supposed to do!

Just ordered God of War Collection on import as I've never played them and number 3 is out in March. Don't know why they haven't released it in the UK but the imports cheap enough.

Waiting for the FF8 to come out on UK PSN.

Also playing too much Fifa10 & MW2

Hammering Forza 2 the last few days, in preparation for getting Forza 3 and a steering wheel on Wednesday. Not sure why I stopped playing this game before, it's class.

Zelda Twilight Princess, very good game, I don't play much games anymore but I'm enjoying this one, reminds me of Ocarina of Time with some things from Wind Wanker.

Finished!! Took me 63 Hours according to the memory card save, Ganon was cool but the OoT final battle was miles more epic and fun.

Yes! One of the things I actually liked about this game was how obtuse it was - really required you to think, and make logical deductions about what to do and how to accomplish it. It was panned in the day as being a 'poor' game, but I think it had it's own charm and style, and made you think - no flashing arrows or overly obvious clues hitting you over the head.

I beat it on a weekend rental too - I was 13 at the time.

Again, see above. Monster Party by Bandai on the NES is another "looks really bad, but is really fun and challenging to play" game.

Demon's Souls -

I can't believe how fucking hard this game is. The online component is seriously genius. 3 mates of my mine were over and were laughing hysterically pretty much every time we watched someone else in the world die. It never gets old! On the flip side this game does not fuck around and if you even blink at the wrong time you can get ass raped by a low level trash mob in 1 hit. I found out tonight it happens to be Gamespot's game of the year and I can see why. Even tho its an incredible challenge its not too bad if you are quick thinking but take a slow cautious pace through the game.

Persona 3: Fez -

Yeah i'm a sucker for a good rpg i can zone out and drink beer to. I loved persona 4 and this one is very very similar. I can see myself getting bored with it eventually at some point especially once final fantasy 13 rolls through the states but in the meantime this shit is better then having friends.

Bayonetta -

I managed to snag an early copy of this weeks before the street date. I played this game for 18 hours straight the first time i got it, taking a small break to nap somewhere in there. This game deserves its perfect Famitsu score because the action is sexy, the difficulty settings are good, shitty jpop soundtrack is awesome, and there is a lot to do once the game is over. I recommend this game (for the 360) whole heartedly.
