Moon ( 2009 ) - 9/10

I guessed the twist after watching the trailer months ago ( I was slightly off on one part of it )

Great film

Bought this today so will be watching shorty, also purchased Vanilla Sky, Persepolis and Weekend (french film by Jean-Luc Godard)

I like Vanilla Sky , never heard of the other 2 movies .

But yeah , Moon is a film that makes you feel like you're somewhat losing your mind, along with the main character .

martyrs - my girlfriend tapped out about twenty minutes in. i had to start over later on. it's a difficult movie to get through, but i think it manages to genre bend itself into something i might call transcendent horror. probably the best horror film of the last five years.

I love this film.

i come with the rain - 7/10 - im not even sure where to begin with this. a p.i. is hired to find the son of a powerful business man then things start to get very weird. i love the directors previous work ('cyclo', 'vertical rays of the sun') but this seemed kind of all over the place. still digesting it. great soundtrack - all eras of radiohead, a silver mt zion, but i think he possibly overdid it. theres A LOT of music in this film. more music than dialogue i think.. it was also surprisingly violent.. in any case, an outrageously uncommercial film with josh hartnett (?) playing the lead.

Hidden(Caché) 9/10. Maybe it was just the right moment, but I really enjoyed this movie. Gives a bit to think about too.

www.petergaber.com is where I keep my paintings. I used to have a kinky tumblr, but it exploded.

i saw josh and i turned it off. well, him and korean hardsubs, to be precise :)

anybody else here see I love you Phillip Morris? why isnt this movie being talked about more!

Citizen Ruth - 6/10 - super heavy handed trite politcal concept sledgehammered over your head the whole time movie about abortion. great Laura dern performance but not enough to carry the whole movie

Space Truckers - 5/10 - Dennis Hopper driving a futuristic space truck through the galaxy, concept was awesome but the movie itself was not very watchable, another one to add to the bin of Stuart Gordon kick

Dolls - 6/10 - great special effects of killer dolls does not make this movie more watchable, not a good movie. Puppet master and Child's play was better

splice - 4/10

as if the filmmaker simply enjoyed ruining an interesting premise with a shitload of cliches..some interesting ideas and some "fucked up" of the right kind, but overall..blah

red desert - really boring, pretentious and pointless. felt about six hours long and i kept closing my eyes waiting for scenes to end but they went on and on and on and on

sherlock holmes - a good romp

rock n rolla - as above

public enemies - shite

le donk and scorsayzee - semi-entertaining

inception - just silly

The Housemaid (Hanyeo) (1960) - What a shocker! Especially for 1960 but even more so for coming out of a conservative Confucian nation like Korea. Riveting tale of jealousy, lust, adultery, manipulation, and murder.

10/10

Babel - Not sure; a powerful film with an important message about communication in the era of globalisation, but I felt it often came off as manipulative and one-sided.

7.6/10

I'm a Cyborg but That's OK - I dunno, cute? Quirky? A few chuckles and touching scenes but otherwise insubstantial.

5/10

Dinner for Shmucks - 5.4/10

The first half of the movie is really shitty, the second half feels like a different movie and was really funny. There's too many lame parts and unnecessary scenes and dialog to give this movie a positive score, maybe the original is better.
