I just watched "Super" (2010)

i give it 0/10

worthless and disturbing.

if you like terry gilliam's "Tideland" i would recommend it but for any people who are sane, definitely spare yourself.

Yeah, I would have to say my opinion of this is almost, almost the opposite...this is nothing like Tideland but it completely twisted in a new and amazing way...Superherosploitation! This film will not do well when it is formally released if it ever is due to the extreme graphic violence but this is what makes it so much fun imo. Kevin Bacon is awesome. All of the actors are awesome in this. But you cannot go into this thinking you are going to watch a mind blowing film. This is an exploitation film. It is fucked up. and I love it. it gets 8/10, James Gunn is a sick mother fucker. Slither is one of my favourite films and the Dawn of the Dead remake is probably my favourite zombie film (other than Tom Savini's remake of NOTLD). This guy needs to make more films. This film is a middle finger to Hollywood blockbuster hero films and it should be celebrated.

just watched "The Red Chapel".. really fascinating documentary about a Danish theater troupe who travel to NK to put on a vaudeville comedy show.

Amazing stuff, reveals NK as such a sham.

10/10 (yes)

The Armando Iannucci Shows - Not a film but an overlooked TV show. Some of you may know Iannucci as the director of In The Loop. I saw the show when I was 14, back in September 2001, not really knowing who Armando was, not knowing who Woody Allen or Luis Bunuel were. This is still one of my favourite things that he's done and I'm recommending now that if you can't get the DVD then to grab the high quality rip from tpb.

I love Iannucci but this completely fell flat for me. Bought the DVD a couple years back but still haven't watched the last couple episodes. Some good bits but on the whole it's a little disappointing.

I really rated this series, it has some of the bizarreness of brass eye but in a more frank and direct format and with some glorious paranoia

Yeah it seems to be polarizing for sure. I just fell on the other side of it, which is unfortunate but Iannucci's done so much stuff I love that it doesn't bother me too much!

This is my opinion

or really close to it at least. I thought SUPER was a surprisingly fun film

that independence day rating in particular is very generous

tongue in cheek. its a terrible film but it has a very special place in my heart

a scanner darkly though... seems a little bit underrated. i think it's a great movie.

True Grit - 1969 version - 8/10

This was on one afternoon when i was flicking, i sat and watched it, and i kinda enjoyed it, some great lines in it. Must be the only John Wayne film i have watched beginning to end in one sitting

True Grit - 2010 Version - 7/10

After seeing the original i wanted to see what the remake was like, most of it is the same as the original even down to lines they speak. Jeff Bridges mumbles a hell of alot in it as well which kind of put me off. It was a decent remake, only thing i disliked was the ending was different from the '69 version (when she is older) and wasn't to my taste at all

(3 hour version)

8/10

Does one need to be a fan of Formula 1 to like this ?

imo, not at all. it's just a great story. but if you think formula 1 is really boring and don't care about the cars at all etc you should probably watch the us release (which is 1½ hours or something like that).

cronos - vampires with a twist (again!) i think my favourite guillermo del toro film. 7.5/10

If you both are suggesting that Tideland is terrible I'm just going to hide in a corner and crysturbate right now.
