marathoned thru games of thrones in 2 days. often hilariously retarded and yet quite captivating and interesting. the production is top notch, must be the one of the most expensive tv shows.. and yet the sword-fighting looked disappointingly limp. the best part was how they treated the unnatural and all that jazz regarding "north of the wall", i really liked that tension. shame that they kinda broke it with that zombie with poor makeup and a hottie with 3 dragons, though the latter was still pretty awesome. the amounts of tits and butts and even a few penises, while obviously catering to the d&d virgins, adds something refreshing to the show. many, in fact even most characters are quite interesting, especially the dwarf, so it was really fun following them from episode to episode. 8/10

those who have liked this one should definitely check out paul verhoeven's "flesh+blood".

'A Dangerous Method' is Cronenberg sexy, i.e. repressed, angry, and naughty. :diablo:

compared to what? lion king?

No, compared to Crash, Naked Lunch, Dead Ringers, Videodrome, History of Violence, and The Brood. Have you never seen a Cronenberg film? There were no sexually-charged whippings in the Lion King from what I can recall, you punk.

Naqoyqatsi: 6/10 Visually and musically too inferior to Powaaqatsi and especially Koyaasqatsi. Also I kinda failed to get it's "point" even though I really tried.

LOL, i love your temper  you sure did your homework!

i've seen all those films except the brood and dead ringers, the distance between those movies and a dangerous method is the same between a dangerous method and lion king...

especially the alien bits that had to be cgi'd because we are not sure what a formless creature looks like.......erm

I enjoyed the remake way more than I thought I would....but apparently I am in the minority here on many of my opinions.

what they should have done was use actually props and then make them look better with cgi, and not just use total cgi which looked way too cartoonish

not gimmicky Squee??? Sound editors can still have jobs?

and to Michael Jackson, you need to drink more of your Jesus juice to know

that there is not one ounce of sex in the Lion King.

Thanks for loving my temper as much as Macauly Culkin.

Nah, I really liked it. Jean Dujardin was a really charismatic fella. Actually, the whole movie was extremely charismatic. I enjoyed every moment of it and I just want to eat Uggie the Dog up! Look at him! He's adorable!

Paprika- typical japanese animated film... 8.2/10

no, it's not actually. Highly untypical for japanese anime and an interesting story that christopher nolan stole and made less interesting

gosford park - Couldn't work out whether this was too easy to solve as a murder mystery or whether it was because I'd seen it before (10 years ago). I don't see how I didn't figure out the murder immediately the first time around. Either way (as with any Altman film) it's so much more than the sum of its parts. Brilliant. Altman is a Genius. Also Kelly McDonald .8.25 / 10

yeah, the director of the trilogy screwed the pooch on that one. Not only does it visually look like a lot of cheesy stock footage we've all seen before, it's processed in an already very dated way.

I also thought the music was the weakest of the trilogy, letting Yo-Yo ma steamroll over/overshadow with his gregarious playing what might have been a very good Philip Glass score

I still feel good about having watched all three movies so now I can only watch Koyaanisqatsi for 140 more times and a few Powas now and then...
