some albums I don't get on the first few listens. I will say I have only heard most of these albums twice. sometimes it takes time for an album to sink in. I appreciate the production, now I just need to enjoy it, haha

i just don't think some albums deserve so much thought or consideration-- when there's so much else out there to listen to that's actually good to listen to, and, the first time..

..and i haven't yet been convinced otherwise.

edit; make no mistake, there are albums that take warming up to, but it's not noise idm. i don't think my imagination can make that work out so easily, nor should it.

I don't 'get' how anyone can not get LP5. Or Confield even. Apart from 777, I don't see why LP5 would be difficult. Apart from Bine, I don't see why Confield would be difficult. Out of all of those albums though, for me Untilted was the most rewarding on repeat listens.

music doesn't have to have a meaning or explanation, it's enjoyment of doing the things that it does. if you like listening to those kinds of beats and sounds then you like listening to them.

tri repetae took me a while to get, probably because it was the first autechre I heard and it was so gradually changing when I was used to stuff like squarepusher. I liked confield and draft 7.30 right away, possibly because the rhythms reminded me of some of the jazz that I listen to. I think people who say the later stuff isn't musical are mistaken, but hey, I enjoy listening to non-music as well as music.
