Autechre Autechre albums you don't "get"

"Untilted", for me, hasn't locked itself into place like most of AEs albums. Besides that one, Confield has taken the longest... but once I stopped "looking" for something in their albums, I started to enjoy them a LOT more. This group basically changed my idea of what constitutes music and my attitudes towards melody.

That's the track that tips Amber over to "absolute classic" status. That part at the end when you're left with the strings and the vocoder style voice, oh man, easily my favourite moment in electronic music. Better than the end of Carn Marth.

That part makes the song sound like a crying robot. So fantastically representative of the atmosphere that Ae goes for on their softer tracks

I was going to say Draft 7.30 but then I put it on at maximum volume just now and I get what all the fuss is about.

with high enough volume and surround speakers you don't have any outside sound.

yes i did. and either way works. and no interruptions helps too

listening to ae reminds me of dads in the 50s that came home and drank scotch to classical music. it's music you can actually pay attention to and not get hopelessly bored

you guys are describing how I listen to music - with big sennheiser headphones on and my eyes closed.

closed eyes or better yet a dark room. i will do this for Autechre, and actually just about anything
