I enjoyed his Warp20 set. His visuals were great! He seems to like 1980's US trashy daytime tv and had several film loops based around this (as well as one based on the album sleeve). Another based around a Jeremy Kyle show style paternity dispute was quite funny.

keyboard cat ;)

i wonder how many people here would, if given the chance, blow beckett. seriously... it feels like this board ONLY accepts music that is completely original and leaves no trace of the past to be found. people here regularly trash albums i've not just enjoyed, but loved. if i had to guess i'd say 90% of the people on this board can't "feel" music anymore -- they're grading things on originality instead of the underlying emotions (and yet when people like flylo/hudmo put out something with a new funky sound they strike it down because it's not the same fucking idm everyone and their dog knows and loves). i guess i'm just thankful i can enjoy the world around me.

warp is a label that's main goal is to find, promote and distribute music. oh, and MAKE MONEY. i dont rage at aphex twin for not making music for me all of the time. how many songs has he produced in his career? making music should be fun and i think he's one of the only remaining fools that does it purely for that purpose. i'd love to flip through his catalog of unreleased material (and BoC's for that matter) but i don't bitch when he doesn't put out a track for warp20 or some bullshit like that (i remember reading a hilarious thread where some dude was raging over BoC not releasing more new material on warp20 -- FUCK YOU). get over warp, get over labels, get over names and get over yourselves.

has butter leaked yet? i wanted to check it out. I really enjoy all the instrumentals i've heard of Mowhawke recently, but can't stand the acapella or R&B vocal stuff

High five! I really like this place, but sometimes the sheer ignorant negativity is just too much. Most of you are beyond cynical. It's like I said earlier, most people here seem to hate more music than they actually enjoy. Get off your high horse, because it's probably not as far of a drop down as you might think.

With that said, I'm not trying to say you should like Hud Mo, I was just grandstanding.

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

it has. 3:30 is the only track on that album that I really enjoyed.

I think I'll wait to hear the rest of Butter, Polyfolk Dance has been in heavy rotation lately.

does anyone know how old hudson mohawke actually is? in all the photos of him he literally looks like he's 12. he has this whole hipster/retro/80's nostalgia thing going on, but was he even alive in the 80's?

Yeah, him and Rustie both look a lot younger than they are- I think he's 22 or maybe 23 at this point. Sure makes me wish I would have been more serious with music when I was younger...

Gave Butter a try but it's really not my thing at all. Not feeling the arrangement or timbre overall. Only tracks I kind of like are Rising 5 and Twistclip Loop. Saw him live in NY too and left in the middle of his set. Not trying to hate on him, just not really my thing compared to acts in a similar vein I do really like such as Flying Lotus, Joker, and the occasional Rustie track.

i think Butter is the most interesting CD by a new artist Warp has released in many years, probably since Jackson and his computer band. Although there are a lot of filler songs on here, about 5-6 of them are great though

he uses a lot of Super nintendo esque harmonica sounds on here, i like that. i haven't heard someone work those sounds proper since Plug's drum and bass for papa
