Keaver & Brause - The Middle Way

Nosaj Thing - Drift

These two are good and have gotten a good amount of play from me this year, but they haven't quite reached 4-star territory for me. It's possible they might eventually though.

Clark - "Totems Flare" is easily the highlight of the year for me, but I've also enjoyed:

Prefuse 73 - "Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian"

Ultre - "The Nest and the Skull"

Bibio - "Ambivalence Avenue"

Wisp - "The Shimmering Hour"

Nosaj Thing - "Drift"

VHS Head - "Video Club"

Hudson Mohawke - "Polyfolk Dance"

Also some things I've enjoyed but haven't got to listen to very much yet are

The Gaslamp Killer - "My Troubled Mind"

Dorian Concept - "When Planets Explode"

DOOM - "Born Like This"

Mos Def - "The Ecstatic"

Mount Eerie - "Winds Poem"

Tim Hecker - "An Imaginary Country"

Rain Machine

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

Honestly my favorite is Hudson's Heeters, but that wasn't out this year. I only listened to a few tracks off of Butter before turning it off in disappointment...

but I'll give it another go.

Brooklyn Queens Expressway orchestral/electronic composition.

It's pretty fantastic

fair enough

I really enjoy him, but it's quite clear why he rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

he also sounds well gay

I like just about everything he does, but I haven't heard this yet. His next album of more traditional songs should be pretty lush with all the classical experimentation as of late...

whats up with referring to these indie singer/songwriters by their first name only? like sufjan or devendra. seems kind of teeny bopperish to me.

how many other sufjans or devendras are there? also a lot of people here abbreviate aphex twin to just aphex.

it's just shorter
