Autechre Any ladies listening to Autechre?

frits, I totally hear you man. I can't stand when people listen to retro indie crap just for the sake of listening to it. Especially girls. Obviously girls will have some musical tastes that won't quite agree with me, but if she listens to complete and utter dump I can't bring myself to take her seriously.

That being said, I'd much rather be forced to listen to ancient, terribly recorded indie music than R&B w/ autotune. I think I just burst an artery. The new fad of white girls dressing ostentatiously, pretending to be black girls, and listening to all this 'baaaaaby baaaaaaby' autotune shit brings up the bile from the back of my neck.

So I guess what I'm saying is that I hate pop-culture, and am terribly disappointed in humanity for their general preferences towards music. Also the huge hoop earrings. What's the point? Am I supposed to try and fire my load through the center of one of them?

Alright, I'm calm. I hold hope for the future. I think some day, human consciousness will expand enough to the point where mainstream is a little bit more experimental. I don't expect all music to sound like Ae, but I'm just sick of everything being clones of everything else. Making music is not the same as making a recipe ffs!

My gf likes autechre. She digs Tri repetae, and also wanted to go to the live act on 28th march but can't and is sad now.

My girlfriend likes Tri Repetae and probably the other earlier stuff too, but I didn't show her that much. It's too complex, she gets headaches, but then again dark isn't a problem. She's a bit random really, she can't fall asleep to Vir Unis - Not Even The Rain (which is like Eno's Music for Airports) but Lustmord, The Monstrous Soul, that "It is the Night of the Demon"-thing, that's like a lullaby to her. Weirdo.

All I really learned from this topic is, whether or not there are an equal number of female Autechre fans as males, they overwhelmingly aren't on this site talking about it. I counted maybe 2 posts from women over 3 pages saying 'I like Autechre', in a thread devoted to the topic.
