People sometimes have weird reactions about instrumental music... like except for jazz and classical music, it must have a singer. Yeah right.

Once someone told me about a tune "-Why the intro is not finished yet ? It's like a minute long ! -Well why the intro should be short ? Just listen and enjoy !". This is why i never make people listen to stuff I like. They dont get it, they dont like unexpected.

Ae listeners a generally quite scrawny and weak.

We really have no way of defending our music except for saying "Once you get past all the weird noises and abrasive drums... I'M SUPER SERIOUS YOU WILL HEAR SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL"

Then we get kicked in the head.

Autechre is the centre of my musical world, nothing else comes close, for me.

Confield is my most played and beloved of all albums, having one copy for work and one for home.

I dont see what there is to 'get'.What I feel when listening to Autechre is indescribable, although I can say that some tracks drive me insane,in a very good way.

I know I'm not the only female into Ae,theres gotta be loads.Maybe your post will spur them on to becoming more visible, but I doubt it.

what is your second most played autechre album? have you seen them live?

Chiastic slide.

I had tickets to see them in Birmingham last friday but owing to unforseen circumstances I couldnt go...Im hoping I can still get a ticket to see them in london...

I saw a really attractive brunette in Sister Ray on Berwick Street flicking through the Autechre section last week. She then got distracted by the Ceephax Acid Crew cover they had on the wall. I almost did a kakapo and asked her if she liked Phil Collins, but then realised that the idea that every single autechre fan in the world must also have a long relationship with wattem is probably an assumption too far.

i hope to see autechre boys in atlanta georgia when they come through either on their way up to new york or their way down to miami.

i sure wish they would release those north american tour dates already.

chiastic slide is one of my favorites. cipater, tewe and pule are outstanding trac's.

I met a lady who listens to Autechre as many of you know. We banged to Incunabula. It was pretty fucking awesome :emotawesomepm9:

My girlfriend hates it. "obscure noise" was the last description.

Lol that doesn't make sense... i think it's just a cop out.... anyway,

About a month ago my mate came around with a girl that he was seeing and along came her girlfriend to my delight. i had a mix already made for the occasion consisting of RDJ, BoC and AE of course. My friend is into a lot of pop music but even he likes some of the stuff i spin, but i'm not really afraid to put it on around people i've just met either, having said that... this girl was pretty pretty and i wanted to give a good impression. So with that in mind i was conscious and cautious of the impression i would be making and tried to put myself in a feminine perspective not knowing what kind of music they would take to. Well it was a success... hot summer night, moonlight pool with sexy music emitting from the veranda, drinks, smoke and seduction were all combined to make a perfect evening. And perhaps a potential GF

Well when putting myself into any perspective, i find it really hard to think that anyone would not like; Goz, Piezo, Cipater, Bike, Lowride, Nine, Clipper, Second Scepe and Scout.... the only thing i regret is not having Oversteps to compliment that list...

turned out they both had heard of Aphex, so one of the fist songs played was Windowlicker, and from that point on... :yeah:

Holy fuck, you lost your virginity to tides? That must have been absolutely epic! I wasn't listening to music when I lost mine.

Yeah, we realized almost immediately that Kalpol Introl sounds very much like stereotypical porno music, and after a few cringes we decided to just go with it.

My girl loves Autechre, and more than most other electro music I listen to. She even wears an Autechre tour shirt at her office on casual Fridays. LOL

I love Autechre. They are my favorite musical artist. I first "discovered" them before even the napster days... It was through random web ftps or downloads. I happened to download this album which wasn't labeled correctly at all. It was just Track1, Track2, etc. I really loved it, but only later I found out it was Incunabula. I had already listened to and liked Aphex at the time. So I was sort of a freakish young nerd I guess, considering where I grew up.. Anyway, now I own every Ae on vinyl and have seen them live. Oh. Also, I don't like Amber. :P
