if they play a new york show i'll be making a zoom h2 recording from the crowd

Cuidado mi amigo--I got the boot at the Chicago Untilted tour for doing that despite being as super sleuth as I could to find a secret spot. Only got about 14 miuntes of SND, which while being great, was no Autechre :wtf:

By "boot", I mean the asshole bouncer sent me on my way and I wasn't feeling frisky enough to try to "tangle ass" as they say in my parts. It wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Realized that on WATMM, "boot" is a homonym--same sound, potentially different meanings.

As always, cheers for the effort on that Manc Boot but, I cry for the quality of both the sound and set content. It starts out like some bluegrass players kicking some moonshine boxes while the fiddles feedback. Some hot rhythms emerge later, but there is zero cohesiveness from my lookout. Naturally, the sound is intolerable at times--I felt like I was chasing them with my own EQ to keep the file from shitting up my monitors. That's okay. The less fanboy freakout I have in life, the smoother it seems to go.

XXX,

You don't happen to have that SND recording still, do you? There's a definite lack of their livesets around, and I'd love to hear it if possible.

Thanks!

Oh, and if anyone else knows of any SND sets available, please let me know!

Thought it was a bit of a shit night to be honest, Rob Hall was great but the venue was just awful

Couldn't really get into Autechre's set, i think that had alot to do with the absolutely WANK sound in there

Hopefully they'll play Glade this year, might be a much better experience in a different venue

Fair play to Soundwave for the MP3, nice work

Yeah I skipped this show, mainly because I'm fucking busy at the moment and I've seen Ae the last 2-3 times they've been through town. But also the choice of venue - Pure! are you fucking kidding me? That place is a shithole. How was that the best they could do? I would have been so much more tempted if they played Music Box (like last time), or even Sankeys or somewhere.

The set sounds so-so, agree with those who don't think it's as good as the Quaristice tour.

I've just had a little go at remastering the file and have updated the upload http://www.percussionlab.com/sets/autechre/autechre_live_at_pure_manchester_11-03-2010

A little harsher with less dynamics than Mika Technika's superb job but I've managed to squeeze a little more detail from the original WAV.

thanks for recording this.

so hm. dunno about this set. some of the transitions are a bit shite?

I dunno about this - some of the beat transitions seemed to smash in at the perfect time and force you to furiously fist the air. They don't sound that great on the recording but they felt great whilst in there.

This is far and away the best sounding recording of this set i've run across: http://d01.megashares.com/dl/WZFbGwV/Autechre%20Live%20at%20Pure%20Manchester%20%2811.03.2010%29%20BOOTLEG%202010%20MAEM.rar

Lots of new rhythmic dialogue/supernatural suggestion that doesn't really come into your perception until you adjust accordingly. A deepening void of lashing light and warm graffiti tunnels is how i'd describe it if I had to.

Yeah looks the same. Didn't see it posted around here, was it already? Posted it here because it's way better than the other ones in this thread.

a few of those sounds when it slams in at 38min are from the 1st track of 05 (glasgow) tour

Nice!

This set gets more and more mind blowing every time I listen to it. It's like an organism who's goal is to consume music. It laughs to itself and says 'I don't care about you.'

The last couple of songs produce a hilarious and displacing effect like slipping into another consciousness operating in a world where stars do not exist.
