interesting read and I agree entirely.

guy's a little too fixated on analogue synthesis when his main complaint really seems to be lack of innovation. I find both of those a little at odds with each other,

Yeah I'm all over this. They'll make cool gifts too! Buy 5, figure out a way to mod it to get a control in and you've got a 5 voice bare bones ms-20 osc/filter/lfo combo. Score.

monotron seems awesome but i dont know shit about circuit bending. How can a noob integrate this into his studio? Like MIDI sync, etc...

Granted you are missing the "crucial to ms-20 sound" hi pass, it's still fun times.

Many bands will suddenly have a "synth" player. =D

Also, i'm sure they'll be all over the nerd gear websites (ie:thinkgeek) and will sell well.

this doesnt stop me from wanting a doepfer dark energy :(

Gocab, lol @ your sig. Nice detail in there. I myself have an album that I released and granted I have some decent monitors and am "fairly decent" at mixing, it was all pretty much mixed on terrible headphones and while intoxicated. But I just "needed" to get it out and stop sitting on my hard drive. But everything I go back and listen im' like BLHARRRRHG where's the bass, god this is so brittle, ugh. Etc. So yes it is very stressful.

edit: and the two (now just one) tracks that i put on soundcloud from it sound worse on soundcloud :/
