Wait... how do we know that Tankakern = Sean?

No, i'm not, but i know he visits this board. After soundboards being taken of the previous tours, they've really, really cracked down. I just don't think connecting wires into the back of the pa system is going to work. It's a shame really, the Quaristice tour, the secret gig they did around the release of Draft and prior to that other secrets gigs in and around mcr, all possibly lost and not to be surfaced in the future.

i know someone who went to a gig for Draft, not sure it was such a 'secret' as you make it sound but hearing stories from him about what the music sounded like makes me feel like an 8 year old child sitting in my grandpa's lap while he spins a yarn

yes he does, his feigned 'whats watmmm.... oh yeah' from the interview Rubin did for Alarm magazine was a dead giveaway he comes here A LOT

edit: Autechre must be really into the exclusivity of their live sets and the mystery surrounding it, i can think of no other reason why they wouldn't release such great material they've been sitting on. Maybe one day Rob Brown will become a whistle-blower and leak all of it following the revelations of a physically abusive relationship

fantastic article..... me and my rave mates arrived from Dublin to a crumby hotel near hyde park that morning to experience the same warped beats. We found an excellent pub in Hackney to hang out in before finding the venue.............Autechre were exactly as described and we ended up walking all the way back to the hotel through 28-days-later London...... coming upon the eerily empty financial district with its massive steel girders and ominous banking institutes.... a perfect end to our little sonic jaunt!

I went to the Draft gig in Mcr. It was at Zumbar (now called something else) on oxford st opposite the bbc. It was announced through word of mouth a couple of days it took place. Rob Hall played the restaurant/bar downstairs on the most awful setup with the owner telling him to turn it down continuously while the upstairs was being prepared. Push Button Objects played followed by Autechre. All new and yet to be heard again material. There were no other gigs played around this time.

there is also this Gescom 2002 manchester recording, around 30min : pretty good & totally unreleased material. soundboard quality, not a DJ set as far as i know, weird that it was leaked. i'm not even sure about its authenticity but it sounds like the minidisc. any idea ?

maybe he'll pull a Sleazy and release a retrospective live box set.

seriously though, I'm having trouble thinking of any other major electronic act that hasn't released at least one disc of their live material..

A retrospective live box set would be brilliant! Bloody annoying they don't release any of their live material, so many golden moments. They need to open the vaults and release the live 2000-2010 boxset...one can only dream....
