I really can't get into this shit.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

footwork is 21st century folk music. mike p is a forward thinking winner.

True, but this DJ Nate is particularly annoying imo. His vocal sample usage is terrible. I know that's part of his "thing" but it just sounds annoyingly sloppy to me.

So this is not a joke? How the fuck something like this can get signed to ANYTHING? I don't understand. Mike is a musician himself, so how he.. Wtf? really. This is probably the worst shit I have ever heard. It sounds like a 11 year old kid's first week on Fruity Loops 5.

you're all ignoring the context of the music... footwork dance battles

Well some may be ignoring it, but I'm not. I appreciate footwork dance battles. I'm also from chicago, and hung out in hoods where they did this shit. The only difference was, they used mainly sped up ghetto tech, which sounded a million times better that this "so bad it's cool and ironic" shit that is DJ Nate. Sorry pal.

Guest Lube Saibot

This is quickly approaching the supernova akin to that of the conceptual art debate:

- This sounds like anybody could do it.

- Yeah, but you didn't do it.

- Yes but LITERALLY anybody could do it, I mean it's even got a strict formula, every song is the same for fuck's sake!

- Pshhyeah, but you didn't think that formula up.

- Because the formula itself is SHIT! It's ALL rubbish!

- No it isn't, and to reinforce that, I'm going to release it on my otherwise impeccable label, thereby emancipating it into reputability and purpose.

- I'll be in my bedroom, listening to Lunatic Harness, trying to figure out what happened between the context of you making that and the conjecture of you releasing this and sorting out my cognitive dissonance. Also, being envious that my first-month FL stumbles from 6 years ago aren't coming out on Planet Mu in September. Thanks Mike, you fucking hipster.

- No problem mate, but, before you go, could you just relieve me orally real quick?

- *sighs and kneels* ...hope you haven't eaten any asparagus today...

- I have, actually, and also I'll be farting all throughout.

- Hrk!

what can i say, i like naive/diy/lofi/punk/crap aesthetics.. he was in high school when he made a lot of his best bits. it's true dj nate isn't what they play at the dance.. but i thought the dance in general should be noted in relation to all this. cuz the stuff that does get played is functional dance music, might be too repetitive to get respect here
