back in the olden days of 2010 i used to put on that step in the circle song pretty often for a sort of semi-laugh. i actually genuinely enjoyed parts of the album from time to time though.

I really love some stuff refered to as footwork I guess. Like Addison Groove (This Is It is genius ), some rough Untold, Ramadanman... I really like the superficial sound for some reason... but this DJ Nate, that's a different thing

and the influences reinvigorate existing genres because all the stuff that hints at it I really like though the music itself is shit

Correct. It works by teaching you what not to do, and provides the encouragement that it shouldn't be too hard to create something that is far better than amateur crap that is coming out on well known labels.
