I was listening to oversteps when I saw this news. SO excited!!

will listen, feeling slightly uplifted with this sense of lots of new musics coming out this summer.

don't mean to rain on the parade but i really hope it's not mostly melodic tinkling like on Oversteps, i want some AE beats, and soon.

I would like moar beats as well. Given the recent live shows, they've obviously gotten over the aversion to percussion that prompted Oversteps. Oh please, be the beat-intensive Cichilsuite to Oversteps' Chiastic. Not that Chiastic lacked for beats, mind, but yeah. Mechanically reclaim that shizzle.

Who knows, though; they sure can throw a curve. I really doubt it's a live set, though, seeing how organic and cohesive those are and given the separate 12-inch packaging. Seems like that would fuck up the point of a live show a lot more than missing out on room dynamics because of a soundboard.

I'd be up for more beats, but I think I'd really prefer more contrapuntal tinkling.

On second thought, I wouldn't mind a ton of "contrapuntal tinkling" if it's done with more of a percussive, metallophone-esque attack/timbre. Oversteps flirts with that, but doesn't quite get to that type of sound. Basically, if the whole EP sounded like six minutes in to Drane2, I would have an EP-length orgasm. IRL.
