2. yeah, definitely not going in for the pre-order this time, the oversteps pre-order cost me $19, to forever for the physical cd to arrive, after which saw it in the local record store for $11 two weeks later.

I'm really happy to have another Ae release so soon, and Oversteps has grown on me considerably since I first got it. That album is fiercely beautiful in many places, and I wouldn't mind more along the same lines (or something completely different). But this new 'y7' track really does sound boring. And where are the beats? I didn't mind Oversteps not having beats in places, because it had counterpoint and lovely interlocking melodies, but this track is like some acid off Quadrange minus the groove factor.

I know, I know... it's a standard reaction to hate at first. Hopefully the rest is better though, coz this one track isn't doing anything for me; it's not even winding me up like known (1) did at first. It's just meh.

Still, super excited to have new Ae!

listened to the track one more time, acid aside from it's obvious 303 feel, it sounds uncannily again like a nommo ogo track except a little more rigid rhythmically. it would be so weird to find out that they've been listening to them because the resemblance is there for sure

yeah the whole notion that an artist can't release 2 full lengths in one year without it being heavily lacking in quality is absurd. good point about fermium and see on see. i eagerly await to hear all the tracks on this. and im sure it's going to leak before the release date

great news! really liking that new track.

i'm sure this is stuff that was created alongside all the Oversteps tracks, but just didn't make the final cut for one reason or another - same as the Quadrange stuff.

Quadrange was awesome! best part was being able to pull the top tracks off of that and merging them with the best of the Quaristice & Versions tracks to create your own ultimate Quaristice album. Quaristice as released was a bit weak imo, but having access to the longer versions & ep tracks they made available & swapping out the tracks i wasn't crazy about... it became one of my faves by them. looking forward to doing the same with this and Oversteps.

i hope they keep releasing more of their outtakes/tangents/etc like this. even if you don't think that they're the GREATEST. TRACKS. EVER... it's still interesting to hear the different paths they took while making the album.

it will be another Ae release, much of the same, and you will like it, regardless. as will most.

the 'fault' lies with Warp, really. they know it will sell.... even though there are better artists whos music should be released sooner.

that's what it comes down to. but you goons will eat it up.. whatever it is. it's funny, and sad at the same time.

but hey, at least middle of the road america is happy....

In that case, best case scenario imo is one EP along the y7 lines, and another of more hard hitting stuff/live sets vibes. Not too keen on another stylistic mixup situation like quaristice (or versions of oversteps tunes ala quadrange) at this point, but I wouldn't cry about it if it was.
