I've made a start on the MBz entry. If nothing else changes, only really the remaining track lengths need adding, as well as production credits for Messrs. Booth and Brown, and possibly a mastering credit for Noel Summerville if he did it. Also, an Amazon link when they have it available.

Does "with shipping" mean "plus shipping" or "including shipping"? Cos if it's the latter, even though I'm about 95% sure I'm going to be deeply disappointed by this, I might just grudgingly bite on this. The vinyl version, that is, which is more expensive. At the very least, it's minimal to the point where it would be really fun to have on vinyl just for the sake of scratching.

 

That was with shipping included... cd was $9.99 and shipping was $2.70 or something. I was pleasantly surprised!

So we can expect it to be about $7.99 at local shops on release day.

I think it works on several levels, knowing the boys' past wordplay. Move often is one, which can mean either changing styles or dancing. As well as that they are releasing "more often" as previously mentioned. Lastly since it's 10 tracks it could imply 10 musical "movements" if you will.

I think Envane came about as "mechanically reclaimed" of the track Nuane (even though it sounds nothing like it). The U on Chiastic Slide looks like a V. So "N-Vane" or Envane.

Oh, I see. Cheers very much, six. I'm not entirely sure I understand what "mechanically reclaimed" means, though, but I get the gist of the story.

I actually missed it completely at the time (). I think Amazon was my Quaristice shop back then before I started getting my Autechre from Bleep, and they didn't tell me about any useful releases.

Et moi! And despite my headphones being on the blink, I think I did have them plugged in just right to hear 'y7' (twice) as intended, and find myself enjoying it. Nay, nigh on loving it! There are some cool rhythms at the periphery, and since the only percussion or regular rhythm (until I completely absorb the track) is the bass drum, the rhythm of the whole is left quite open. So much so that I can't be certain in what time signature it is. It may not even be too fanciful to suggest it to be in 7/4, considering the title. I also enjoy the general sound of it: it's kind of sexy. Finally, since it starts abruptly, perhaps it segues (quickly) from 'Etchogon-S'.

I kind of agree with this - if the track were on Oversteps it'd be a bit of weird, dull, skippable moment for me. I prefer things that go somewhere and develop. It might be a good transition track between 1 and 3, though, and like someone else said, they've hardly put their best tracks up to promote albums in the past (Fermium?)

But I'm still very much looking forward to Move of Ten, and it has the most ludicrous track titles yet. Which is a good thing..maybe

it will be another Ae release, much of the same, and you will like it, regardless. as will most.

the 'fault' lies with Warp, really. they know it will sell.... even though there are better artists whos music should be released sooner.

After several listens of y7 I've grown to very much enjoy it. This track sounds almost like it would be at home on quadrange but it has more melodic stuff going on than most of quadrange. Can't fucking wait for this , I'm thoroughly drooling now

y7 does sound like they have the euro modulars out and tweaking :-)

has anyone worked out how to download this track? ANyone copied it, I try to record it on Live with my TC Twin Impact but get lots of clicks, not bad really it adds to the track, but would prefer the non crack version.

Personally I didnt think much of the 4 on the floor track from Quadrange. it was really sub Autechre standard, I do like this though.

I cant understand why some people dont get Oversteps??? They really were over steps then.

Then again I am 42 and been with Ae every step of the way :-p Each album is great and different. :-)

perhaps in keeping with naming releases in ways obliquely referring to the order of release (incunabula = first book, TRI repetae, Draft _7_.30, etc.) the 'ten' in "move of ten" refers to it being a companion piece, though not itself an album, to oversteps, the TENth AE LP.

I actually like y7. It sounds to me a bit like 90101-51-19 and Gescom's Slow Acid. It also sounds a bit more structured and less randomly melodic than Oversteps. Me like.

Heard it once last night finally.. nice track, definitely in the vein of quadrange. Looking forward to hearing the rest of it. I'm liking autechre's dark wavey 4/4 stuff..
