i've relistened to y7 and i want to say that this stuff is multilayered as hell

4/4 plays only like a metronome/grid, above this you can catch (from grinded frequencies) a cool pop song! lol

Just about anything could do without 1234 bass kicks. I've yet to listen to 'y7', and have pre-ordered both vinyls with 24bit .wavs (for £10.99 plus £2 postage, for those playing along at home) before doing so. Mixed reactions from you lot, and I think 'y7' probably won't appeal to me, but we'll see. I'll soak up anything from Autechre until they start churning out stuff we could see coming a mile away.

i like it. but after quaristrange the idea is a little tired for me. i was never into any rave shit though, ae drew me in with their awkward beatz

y7 potentially sounds to me like a track that contributes more to the whole than it shines on its own. A passive track to open the way for the next one perhaps. Maybe this album will kind of mirror their latest sets in the way that they go from simple beats to outlandish ones then back. Contrast and movement. Or it could be Oversteps.Quackrogue.ep.ae.

When Oversteps came out I took a trip to England. Now this album is coming out and I can't help but feel like the album title is telling me to move there.

On wordplay: In addition to the artwork, the title of the Move of Ten certainly links it with Oversteps, since to "step" is to "move". They're also more verbose titles than previous ones. "Envane" - has anybody yet worked out what an "envane" is, or what it means?

i think he meant that he thinks it's a bit weird to be given the choice to not have both of them, but to pick and choose. you have the choice to have part of the whole, if you want.

Autechre naming traditions suggest that track 10 might be fucking epic.
