In that case, best case scenario imo is one EP along the y7 lines, and another of more hard hitting stuff/live sets vibes. Not too keen on another stylistic mixup situation like quaristice (or versions of oversteps tunes ala quadrange) at this point, but I wouldn't cry about it if it was.

i'd have to lie to claim it had my mind blown or anything, but then it doesn't sound as if it wanted to.

neither as "aggressively beautiful" as oversteps nor just plain aggresive like the recent live stuff, it sounds just like sysyphus put it:

a more sober version of the 901's off quadrange, meaning more improvisational and "directionless", or put positively "monolithic". i kinda like the overall unresolved-ness and fuzziness in the middle.

we'll see about the rest...

ideally an album is more than just a collection of a certain number of tracks making for a certain amount of playing time, though...

as oversteps clearly shows, imho. also lp5/ep7 etc blah...

But in all seriousness I agree with you, and although I really would eagerly drink up and almost certainly enjoy anything AE produce, I'd sorta prefer the beat-fuckery over the melodic stuff because Quadrange and Oversteps were both more minimalist and ambient ish than previous Ae work. Well placed in the chronology and excellent for overall discog flow but if they don't mix it up with some serious stuttering Autechreage then I'll be a little bit disappointed.

Just a little bit though, and only because I'm using potential beat fuckery as a frame of reference. In terms of music in general - anything they produce will be leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of electronic music.
