New Ae ten track

Recommended Posts

This reminds me most of Quagrange as others have said, but also a bit of the little sketches on EP7, where they'd take a lot of different ideas and noodle around for a few minutes. I didn't like that release at first but it turned out to be one of my favorites with time. Time's gonna tell on this one too, I'm excited to hear it even if I'm not totally wowed by the preview track.

I think Envane came about as "mechanically reclaimed" of the track Nuane (even though it sounds nothing like it). The U on Chiastic Slide looks like a V. So "N-Vane" or Envane.

Oh, I see. Cheers very much, six. I'm not entirely sure I understand what "mechanically reclaimed" means, though, but I get the gist of the story.

"Mechanically reclaimed" was their term for "remixed" on the Cichlisuite EP, which were all very loose remixes of the track Cichli on Chiastic Slide.

I don't see anything special with y7 yet and I'm hopingit isn't representative of the entire disc :/ 1 quadrange is enough for me...

You're all freaking fanboys who can't admit Autechre has been going downhill for years. y7 is unimpressive as hell and you can't get over acid because you act as if Analord just came out. This is why I barely browse this forum, bunch of sdkasjbdgoasfh!

*orders CD on Bleep*

Haha, I remember the days when you were a bright eyed young fanboy on the level of THS. How the world has jaded you...

I actually matured, unlike some members.

I really, really like y7 - I like how the melody comes through in bits and progressively builds as the song goes along. Nice bass too.

The title is a nice touch too - move of ten = move often = dance music!

Did you ever listen to Oversteps? If so, what did you think of it?

y7 is nuts. I thought it was just ok the first couple times i listened to it, but certainly not now. There's a lot of subtlety going on here that i've never heard in any other acidy music. Tons of mood and presence. It's like the true nature of acid house sneering from a dark corner, knowing that no one ever really got it. We've been infinitely barraged with laughable acid-house for years but it turns out its not actually that shallow. All i know is y7 has a lot more depth than anything on the analord records for instance, to me at least.

Now all we have to do is wait for the acid-house fake leaks to start rolling in :rhubear3:

LOL, nope - not properly at least. I DID finally add it to my iTunes library, so hopefully if I can burn a CD of it (or just dig out the promo CD I got in the first place) to take in the car, I'll have a proper listen finally.

Agreed - I love that 'hollow' echo-y sound it has, which you initially don't hear, but then it slowly creeps in, and you notice it - I love that feeling.

Yes, this is how I feel too. I was kind of shocked at how much more was going on than I initially thought. Now I have y7 stuck in my head. I'm really happy about this direction.

I think the title is cool when you consider "move often" but it gets ruined by capitalization "Move of Ten"). It only flows in all lower case.

aren't you the guy who said they are shit since '97?

Nope, I'm the guy who likes almost everything they've done up to 2008, especially from 1997 on, with the exception of Untilted which is just OK.

I thought Oversteps and Move of Ten were jibes at the fans who go to their gigs and stand still for the entire show stroking their beards.
