Coming up to 13 hours of fucking drone is starting to give me a leg tick. These cunts dont care about whats happening on the pitch, just blowing into that fucking thing for 90 minutes.

i am on the fence with these vuvuzelas. it's a south african tradition and the WC is in their country, so a little local flavour is great, but to ban them would just be forcing a european flavour to the thing, cultural imperialism.

however they are getting criticized by players, audience and broadcasters so a ban of them or simply not allowing as many in should be considered. they really don't bring anything to the atmosphere, the continuous drone does not reflect what happens on the pitch and drowns out other great crowd noises such as chants, singing and whistles.

This whole lack of understanding of African culture is balls. I hate most country and western, it doesnt make me a xenophobic.

The WC is about sharing world cultures, this has just been a tad inconsiderate

i heard that the vuvuzelas aren't even traditional. It's only in the past 10-20 years they've started using them. Anyway, they ruin the atmosphere of games because they take out the usual crowd participation.

I don't mind them really. They remind me of Bangface

i totally filter them out somehow but i notice the fact you almost never hear any crowd noise

Holland was great. If I would need to choose best teams just from their playing at this world cup so far it would be Holland and Germany. Argentina is something like a mega favorite of this world cup but they didn't played impressive. England played like dicks, Frace played like pussys.

netherlands played pretty well, denmark didn't really do much at all..

england better step up their game because every other world cup match I've seen, the teams have been a lot better than England... good thing we went up against the US first eh? haha

I dont care about the fan singing (tho i do quite like the Dutch, they do quite nice layering and harmonies), but living with that noise all day everyday for 4 days is giving me a Guantanamo empathy i could do without. Saying that BBC are doing a much better job of nutralising it.
