copy the chunks in question from an older version of the map

paste them into a newer version

couldn't one just delete chunk in question and let it generate again?

Yea, couldn't we just regenerate the chunk, and then fill the chunk with lava? It'd be quite scenic.

i don't wanna regenerate the area because there's stuff built there.
