Guest Iain C
is sake really worth getting in to? i tried some once, but it was a disgusting cheapo one that came in a carton with a little straw. hated that. Braintree
Some sake can be quite nice. I actually like the chilled, unfiltered type myself. Sho Chiku Bai Nigori is what they serve at one of my favorite joints. I had it hot like four years ago, but I didn't much like it at the time. I'm willing to give it another shot, though. It's definitely an acquired taste.. took me about 2-3 years of drinking it to really appreciate it. My girlfriends brother is majorly into Japanese culture, actually he even looks Japanese for a Chinese dude, but anyways; he introduced me to all these fancy shmancy sake liquors. Anyways, the one I posted is sort of a cheap one. modey
yeah sake is well wickid. it's more of a winter drink for me though, to drink nice and warm with a lush japanese dinner. Guest Iain C
it's good gin but i prefer plymouth myself. actually i've been drinking pink gin a lot lately which is just gin with a few dashes of angostura bitters. put the bitters in a martini glass, swirl it around the sides, then add very cold gin. bitters are also pretty nice thrown into a G+T. bitters! Guest Iain C
i've got to admit i'm not one for beer cocktails, but lately i've been really enjoying American whiskeys. have you had the Jim Beam rye? it's the one with the yellow label. so sweet and smooth. i haven't tried any other ryes yet but i've been enjoying a few bourbons - bulleit, wild turkey, maker's mark. any other lovely American whiskeys i should taste? particularly ryes? P.S. never had beam rye P.S.S. bourbon = the best Edited February 1, 2011 by morphis2525 Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/63408-now-drinking-thread/page/2/#findComment-1507419 Share on other sites
