people who think helping others = socialism and handouts. i used to like being American, but most of us are too selfish to put up with.

I know, still sounds like my aspie friend when he goes off on an audiophile tangent.

Got heavily stung on import duty today, first time in years. Standard piss-poor attitude at the collection depot: "Well if you didn't want to pay duty, you should have bought whatever's in here *shakes parcel* within the UK". Could not be bothered with the futility of it all, so begrudgingly paid £30 for nothing, gave him the death stare and left as quickly as I could.

On the plus side, the seller from Japan kindly included some sweets.

It's getting that way here to. They've managed to fool the masses into acting against their best interests at every turn. How quaint, but also frustrating.

We have a free trade agreement with japan. It was introduced with the benefits being pointed out to all and sundry. Of course it works out that it's only businesses that benefit. Should you want to bypass their paywall markup gouging, there's a possibility that you're going to get stung by customs.

Mostly you don't though, the volume of stuff getting sent overwhelms them.

me and my bedroom is covered in pastry flakes (i'm used to eating pastry in a kitchen and it being swept up but i just bought some and didn't even think about using a plate).

Caught my thumb in a car door yesterday. Friday 13th, unlucky for thumbs.
