many of them don't really come from money.

I don't feel like she's less talented than plenty of other people who get cash backing. There's a lot to be said about the tyranny of beauty, but it's absolutely a popular election. I'm sorry we don't live in an enlightened world. (but if we did, you woud probably not be so mad anyway)

what exactly makes her different from most other large pop artists?

i doubt other pop stars market themselves as aggressively as lana.

I'm pretty late to this music but I seem to have the opposite opinion of most. I was just reading an article with a dialogue between some magazine writer and the dude who originally discovered her and gave her a contract. He says that she's a bit of an ever-changing oddball basically who was weird from the get-go. He also says that her father was not financing anything... also that they got lucky with some dude at itunes falling in love with "video games" and putting it to the top.

anyway i havent listened to much but "video games" is actually rad if you think of it as just some weird oddly hot petr type singing throwback style music. The Nico reference early in the thread was great actually i think. but she seems to have much more than nico.

actually the more i watch this video the more i think of petr....how weird is that to be referencing a watmm member...
