I agree, anyway I liked that video games song when they played it on the radio, a rare highlight at my shitty job, but I never managed to catch the name until this thread. I didn't know what she looked like, about blogs, about any of this shit basically, except for that song. Which I still like. Does this prove anything? probably not. This lana one is pretty ok by my normal pop standards. I mean, I can listen to her and enjoy it a lil.

She needs a Lee Hazlewood on production. I enjoyed the lazy ambivalence of her vocals, but the direction and iinstrumentals seem to be grasping at a number of different trends that have been popular over the past few years and not very well. I'm normally not into fake tits/lips and that, but I find her dystopian blow up doll image interesting. They are trying to make her too many things and not carrying the captivating parts of her far enough.

after listening to the album i'm disappointed. i really like born to die and video games but the rest of the album sounds more like kesha or lily allen or your average pop starlet. shame.

actually blue jeans is pretty good and off to the races is okay. everything after is bland.
