I've just seen season one and thought it was downright terrible outside the ogling the sexy maid aspect, does it get any better?

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

my gf just showed me Regular Show last month... haven't been watching anything else since

it's so good, I've only caught a few seasons but need to watch it front to back one day

watched heavily then trailed off when I dropped cable - was a huge fan early on, even have a shirt with Mordecai and Rigby saying OHHHHHHHHHHH

I remember it being a bit hit or miss compared to Adventure Time but the good episodes were really good

it was a like a 90s slacker show/film à la Clerks, Spaced, Beavis & Butthead, even Futurama but with more absurdity and tailored for younger audiences - i.e. Adult Swim lite.

Definitely the only reason to have watched.

pretty annoying that peele seems uninterested in comedy or that he’s somehow an authority in horror because he made an extended key and peele sketch

2 episodes into Maniac. Little quirky and on the nose for my taste but willing to see where it goes.

Got 3 episodes into The First. I like the world but it’s such a predictable snooze. Not sure if worth continuing.

I just finished watching Maniac. I... Was hoping it would be better. It seemed to make everything incredibly clear.

I want to like it.

maniac is wank. the whole series feel like some new agey psych/philosophy conference. defatted jonah hill is a boring actor/character and half of the thing is based around him. it's somewhat similar to legion and leftovers, but the direction and production is not as inventive as legion despite much higher budget, and the emotional depth and resonance comes noway close to leftovers. and of course you get 80's nostalgia semen smeared all over it just because.

I liked the second episode of Maniac. I have no recollection of watching the first episode even though I only saw it yesterday.

Also watching season 5 of Veep which is great.

And Sharp Objects. One of those things that's difficult to pass judgement on until I've finished with it.

I'm 3 episodes into Gypsy. Enjoying it quite a bit....

But I'm also a fan of Naomi Watts as well.... So I'm not sure how much that's playing into how much I'm liking the show.

New BoJack season is good as always, especially as it basically apologises for itself in the penultimate episode

Stoked to watch OA II. The movement thing never bothered me, anyone familiar with Druidic studies will recognize the importance of movement to get to higher planes.

I'm now on Better Call Saul season 4. Impressed by the depth of the characters and the actors' portrayals on this show.

I watched a little bit of maniac and will go back to it but it's difficult because the influences are so strong. If brazil, total recall, black mirror, etc. hadn't been made this could have felt fresh but it's hanging on the coattails of its decades of predecessors and there is staggering degrees of familiar themes in a genre at its beating heart must thrive on new ideas. Only seen a little bit though so maybe it's a homage. But even the homages have been done to death.

Binged the second season of American Vandal, quite possibly the best show out there rn, a tad overlooked. Doesn't take itself too seriously, doesn't try to be more than it is, no bs, perfectly executed and engaging plot that makes you want to watch it and hit next and you won't stop until you finish it. The second season also answers the main question (unlike the first one, it was a little vague) so you get full closure, and also gives remarkable social commentary. Couldn't ask for more.

I wish all shows were like this. But no, you get 40 minutes of meandering and no suspense no resolution, nothing. Just supposed "atmosphere" and "character development" (me being angry at Better Call Saul)

Not a single post about Patriot in this thread? (Or is the search fucked?)

Best TV show in years I reckon

i tried but it's kinda hard to get what it's all about. on one hand it's a complete farce with all kinds of quirks, clownish and absurd characters and ridiculous situations, on the other it's some kind of family drama, but then you get this ultraviolent side as well. and those three don't really mix well in the series, it's mess tonally and thematically. that lead guy is very bland too which doesn't help it being more watchable.

American Vandal looks entertaining. I agree about Better Call Saul. The first season was pretty great. Then it just grinded to a halt with only a few substantial things happening over like 26 episodes. Seasons 2 and 3 could have been condensed into one and there would still be plenty of room for atmosphere. I don’t even remember anything about season 2 because in season 3, at least some shit happened.
