Yeah he's been speaking of it for a while on Twitter ! He was talking about a double album etc, playing it live at Coachella this year etc.

He also tweeted that monday :

  Quote
played the album for granny, she had that slightly confused look the whole time. #signsofsuccess

Meaning the album's probably finished.

I think he had it in another tweet: "I'm putting the finishing touches on the new LP"... so I think you're right

Can anyone recommend some of FlyLo's more solid, hip hop kind of stuff?

What I've heard is way too mellow for me.

Well he has alot of unreleased stuff but my favourites are still the Los Angeles Lp and Cosmogramma. If you don't like any of them then its probably not your thing :/

1983 isnt mellow but some tracks really annoy the shit out of me. I can only listen to it 2 times a year.

i think los angeles is better than cosmo, but yeah most of his stuff is excellent

+1. Although I really appreciate the experiment nature of cosmo, it wasn't an aesthetic that i love.

still highly enjoyable though. Can't wait to see what he does next.

1983 is the only album of his I actually own/enjoy. Everything else is too all over the map stylistically.

I own them all and enjoy them all but I still feel that 1983 is the most consistent to listen to. Sure the other two may be more forward-thinking and have helped develop his own identity. But I find 1983 more listenable and coherent.

That said, I'm always looking forward to new stuff.

You could try this :

It's the harshest Flying Lotus track I could think of ^^

I enjoyed the direction Cosmogramma took, FlyLo has the talent to pull it off I think. Excited to see where he heads next. I liked Los Angeles, but Cosmogramma made me a big fan, one of my 2-3 favourite albums of the decade so far, along with Warpaint's debut and the latest Arctic Monkeys.

Cosmogramma was also released in my first week in a new city, and at the time I constantly had it on rotation, and bought my first car, so it holds a special place.

Yes, sorry guys I looked for it using the search function before making the new topic but... didn't come up with anything. =/

I'm WATMM search-bar incompetent :(

Opinions blah blah but I'm really surprised to see people liking Los Angeles more than Cosmogramma. I mean shit, Cosmo is a quantum leap beyond LA. Cosmo travels back in time and knocks up LA's mom so it can be its daddy. Seriously, folks.

Dude... Los Angeles is just SO consistent, it takes the cake as far as I'm concerned. Its a real album's album _ when one track is finishing I get excited, anticipating and knowing the next one. I don't have that same relationship with Cosmogramma.

I like every track on Los Angeles, wheras Cosmogramma i'm about 90%. MmmHmm, Arkestry, and Table Tennis are the suspect ones off Cosmogramma

New Flylo Album sounds good to me. Cosmogramma and L.A. were both great.

Didn't like Pattern + Grid World so much, though.

In my opinion, And the World Laughs With You is pretty bad. Table Tennis is probably the worst song on the album, though.

that's his mother's respirator on the beat. when you realize that, the emotion of this song expands tenfold.
