Been coming here a long time, and it was my first experience of an internet 'community'. I eventually came to realise that internet communities are very different to irl communities; you don't get much of a feel for the personality of many of the individuals, its more just a collective mood.

When I have to try and explain it to other people, I say its not really like a community, its more like a bunch of people who are working together to entertain each other.

And Fred was a great entertainer

So great, that when he once 'borrowed' a joke I'd made about mice (my only comment to ever get quoted in the funny quotes thread) and adapted it to be about ducks, I felt deeply honoured.
