yeah, a real shame. my brother still raves about PT and refuses to delete it, was it really that great?

From the many many play-throughs I saw of the thing it almost made me purchase a PS4 just to play it (with the possibility of then getting the full Silent Hills later). As it stands I'm still PS4-less and have Layers of Fear installed on my PC instead -

Despite the rather cheesy v/o and directing of the trailer I purchased with fingers crossed and fuck-me it's grand. The only game I've ever played where I've bit my tongue through fear.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

i played it once very briefly with friends and we were screaming and it was ALOT of fun (altho after a while it got to a point where we were all refusing to be the one to hold the controller and play the game instead all wanting to sit back and watch). super freaky. the photo realism of the engine is wicked too. now its v easy to point at games that are essentially doing what PT did and expanding on it but i do think PT had something pretty simple and spot on and nailed it with such a small demo, and more than anything pointed at something that could've been special.

Yeah that engine was incredible - the first game to me that really shouted 'next-gen'. Such a shame Konami has gone properly off the boil over the last couple of years.

PT, for being a "demo" showed so much promise if Silent Hills had actually come out. Hopefully Konami will regret it's change in direction and realize AAA game development makes good business sense.

Working on (and almost done with) Megaman 4 from the Megaman Legacy Collection - I had forgotten how challenging these games were!

Still playing Super Mario Maker. I think we've gotten to a point where newer stages aren't being noticed as much because of the popular "big names" overshadowing the rest. I could be wrong about that, but my newer stages aren't being played, but at launch, pretty much anything that you uploaded would get noticed. At least I know some of my earlier stages are showing up in 100 Mario Challenge. I just wonder what level.

Here are my two latest if any more of you guys have picked the game up:

Koopa Apartment Demolition: 8B85-0000-0074-5AE8

Cerberus in the Bomb Factory : 12A3-0000-005B-A8D2

I finally stopped playing the game so I could try and finish Disgaea D2 before Disgaea 5 next week. I will have to blaze through it, foregoing the Item World and things like that if I just want to finish. It's not like the game is connected to the new one, but I just hate to have all of these games and haven't beaten any of them since Disgaea 2.

I too am still to this day bummed about Silent Hills.

However SOMA is currently unsettling the fuck out of me so I still recommend that heartily to anyone looking to be terrified in the first person.

I spent way too long making my latest level on Mario Maker. Still having fun with it.

I like the idea in your latest level flim, good stuff. Took me a while to beat it.

A bunch of classic 3DS games are about to get marked down in the US, and UK on October 16th, including the rare Star Fox 64 3D, which goes for $45-50 online because of its rarity. I'm glad Nintendo squashes the outrageous collector's market sometimes and re-releases games that are just too high in resale value.

Thanks for playing. What did you think of the difficulty of the "boss?" I didn't want people to get there and die quickly before figuring out what to do and then quit because they had to start the whole long stage over again.

Your stage was nice and clever. Love the title! The Bowser Jr. x 2 was kind of frustrating, but overall, a very good stage.

There were 2 bits I found a bit frustrating. The bomb at the start killing you if you walked right immediately and there was a bit with 3 walls you had to break in a row with bombs from one pipe. Once they blew up the block with the spring on so if I fell I was stuck. The rest was pretty straight forward. I remember the final bit being fun. You put a note that basically says what to do anyway, so if they die its their own fault!

I hope they patch in checkpoints though. People are impatient and I find myself having to cut back on more challenging stuff I'd like to do because because you have to travel all the way back to it again.

I never foresaw that first pipe being a problem, probably because I made the stage, but also because people apparently play differently than I do. Rather than immediately running forward, I expect people to wait a second or so before running because of what could be immediate death. The timing of the pipe generators is completely random. I hate that it's not the same all the time.

As far as the area that you got stuck in, I tested that area countless times so people WOULDN'T get stuck.... I put the spring, the vine, and a super leaf there to help out, but I never had the block with the vine in it blow up :( Plus, there's a bomb and a leaf before you get to that part, and I was hoping that players would ignore the bomb generator altogether and use their tails to break the walls going forward. So many different scenarios went through my head, but still one problem remains that I didn't see happening....

Thanks for your feedback!

seems like thps5 is exactly what everybody feared it would be

hahaha man. what a trainwreck.

i mentioned this b4 but one of the first games i played when plugging in ps2 recently (via component cables. everything looks so sharp and excellent!!) was TONY HAWK PRO SKATER 3. and man, it honestly plays so nicely and so smoothly. it would be nice if they released a game that essentially did what Pro Skater 5 said it would do on the box but it looks like the game is clearly in wrong hands.. again. there's nothing wrong with the originals.

i can kind of imagine THPS5 becoming a Lets Play *hit* ala goat sim with everyone laughing at the crazy physics.

they're gonna have to do something about that price tag tho if they expect anyone but misinformed filthy casuals picking this one up.

make it $20 and it'll become a lets play sensation.

I played this game recently from my favorite game-making community and loved it, if you like strange video games then this is for you http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/9618

also this one which was posted on the same site is interesting and has an AFX SC soundtrack, 34 ibiza spliff

http://2sman.itch.io/drug-dog

those games are both free and this one is not, but it is very very funny and surprising and big and clever and meaningful for something mostly made by one person, i completed one ending, but then there's the more meaningful ending that the game encourages you to try to get to if you didn't get to it the first time http://undertale.com/

lol yeah that looks exactly like Entwined, which was pretty forgettable

Stoked to watch OA II. The movement thing never bothered me, anyone familiar with Druidic studies will recognize the importance of movement to get to higher planes.

Both of those Rez-alikes (and so many games like them) are totally missing the point of Rez, which was a regular action game that makes songs as you play the levels. Everything I've seen since then that is inspired by Rez is more along the lines of a Guitar Hero hit-the-pattern-at-the-right-time thing and is never as good as a result.

[edit] Though I haven't played Child Of Eden, I assume it's the closest to Rez conceptually since it's the same devs.
