Cinema is back!

I'm not joking. I love these films. Rube Goldberg killing machines for an hour an a half is all I want.

Hasn't Jurassic Park been raped enough?

lol looks like stupid fun which is fine by me.

That's some top tier Gal Gadot like acting from Scarjo. Simply exhilarating, can't wait.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

What's even sadder is that this is Gareth Edwards. I feel horrible for him.

Oh no

This looked clean, they reduced the haziness in 80% of the movie, and left it in for the Cenobite scenes, what really popped was Frank’s makeup, the sliminess of his muscles is more defined in 4K, the music seemed a little flat, but our theater got tons of bleed through from the booming movie soundtrack next door. 9.5/10

Positive Metal Attitude

bushido / gobangiri by kazuya shiraishi

samurai drama exploring a relationship or balance between goban (duty) and ninjo (compassion) in which yanagida is a samurai exiled, and a keen player of the board game 'go', through which he builds friendships and maintains his connection to following rules, through which he then is accused of a second crime.

seeking revenge against the man responsible for his initial exile, a former 'go' opponent, and attempting to save his daughter from prostitution as their fates worsen, he must set things straight before the end of the calendar year strikes. he is then torn between the greater freedom he finally feels on the road and returning to defend and restore his reputation too.

crisply told and shot, modest in scale but beautiful, shiraishi gives the story a largely very successful slow burn with pay off and surprises along the way. although 'go' is central, it's theme of captured territory and structure are a way to highlight yanagida's greater conduct, through which others learn good lessons or suffer, through their varying ability in matching him.

I saw the gorge

Awful

Anya Taylor Joy was cast as this pathetic Russian riot girl hot chick sniper that dances and wears dms

The male actor whoever the f he is from the drum movie who they wanna make all muscles is shit and has no charisma

The story is so dumb and contains both military porn and anti corporation vibes bites hard off annihilation without the style

They even have the whole communication of feelings off paper signs sap

Delete 1.5 hours from my life

the brutalist - most of the thought required during this is actually in pondering how and why it's been so lauded as great, rather than as familiar, uninspired and ordinary. bar one or two key cast, the acting is nigh on awful. the story is empty of original ideas, but successfully recycles points similar to those made elsewhere. this might just be a case of wanting to promote a particular film, director or lead that it feels as though it's the right time for ... but other films have done this kind of content better. i've not personally seen any film cover the creative process or architecture directly, but this doesn't really do that very much at all either.

I wondered at the end if the point of the plot was to promote heroin as the best solution  for  all kinds of problems. it even fixed his wives leg problems at the end

that's one of the heavy-handed cliches that make it such an odd film to celebrate. the other that i found oddest was the sexual assault scene.
