It's funny that most of those who see elaborate government conspiracies all over the place are also the ones that love to bemoan how bad government are at doing things. Which is it? A super competent government who manages to plan and execute a conspiracy involving hundreds if not thousands of people or an inefficient incompetent government that can't even get the most simplest things right?

i think you don't need thousands of people involved in a conspiracy to make it work. you need a few key posts to be involved in it, a few powerful people with mutual interests. also, you need to get rid of serious opponents, whether by intimidation, discredit or in extreme cases, murder. information is viral, so you only need to control the source, the rest will follow.

don't get me wrong, i don't believe every conspiracy crap that comes out at every corner. as awepittance said, i think that 3/4 of conspiracy theories are plain crap designed by the government to discredit all conspiracy patterns. controlling the opposition is the best way to manage this. you have a monopoly on information.

the french media are owned by big corporations, and those corporations have strong connections with politicians. if you take a close look to who those politicians are, you can see that they work for corporations and banks, they're employees. when a system is so corrupt, i find it rather sane and rational to take what the media say with a pinch of salt.

but again, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I would argue that 9/11 attacks were extraordinary, and a conspiracy surrounding the attack is extraordinary, however, there is plenty of extraordinary evidence surrounding 9/11 attacks to at the very least show that the official record is horribly inaccurate. This has, what? People "acting funny" and a coincidental call for increased gun legislation. Not even close to meeting the burden of proof.

I mean, why not just say the U.S. government or some black ops wing of it is behind every single school shooting in U.S. history?

I'm not saying that governments are known for fucking about behind the backs of those they represent, but with a claim like this you can't just say its because of intuition and expect others to take it seriously.
