if korg starts giving people what they want, well, that's a good thing.

Then it's Roland's turn.

101s are averaging £450-£500 in the UK. Korg have just shown that you can re-issue to the same spec and undercut the second hand market significantly. The 101 is a simple non-discrete monosynth, it really wouldn't be that difficult, nor would a Juno-60/106 be.

Speculation that Korg have kept the same CV spec, hertz/oct, rather than v/oct. That's a mistake if true. I've just bought an A4 that does hertz so I won't have any problem sequencing it, but still, any manufacturer that doesn't make it as easy as possible to integrate with eurorack is missing a trick.

I think he's talking about the mini ms20 in regards to the cv.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

I would think Native Instruments and the other big players are doing rather well financially/off topic

Yep, it's been confirmed for a while now. It's amazing, from here on only good things can happen. I can't wait to see what Roland will show at NAMM 2014 or even before that!

Korg staff must be watching youtube and doing Market research

We should be finding a way here as a group to tell Korg: we want Korg PS3300 reissued

How to do it? Maybe a protest with youtube videos.

The protest is organised by making a good track with a monotribe or monotron and then having the images in the video be pictures of the Korg PS 3300 and a message saying "THIS IS WHAT WE WANT YOU TO SELL US. WE WILL MAKE YOUR COMPANY RICHER IF YOU MAKE US THIS"

In English and JApanese, so that Korg's USA and Japan staff all get to see the message on youtube

Er, ok I'll get me coat............ :emb:

Korg have been padding out the market for analogue with the Monotron and Monotribe as well as spreading iconography of the MS20 with the iPad app

there is also a growing young market now for cheaper analogues like the Mopho/Tempest, Minibrute, Minituar, Dark Energy, Mono Lancet ect and Korg have wisely hit this in the bullseye

I heard that one of the blokes who designed the ms20 used to keep in touch with people who emailed him with questions, and that's going back at least 10 years or longer. One of the schematics was drawn by him personally ? Something like that. And the thing was that the guy hasn't left Korg since he designed that synth. So Korg's engineers haven't stopped being in touch with analogue fan boys.

As for Roland, there isn't hope until the manager accountant people make a decision. Japanese business has a weirder way of working than western businesses, with juniour employees being afraid to contradict the boss. Guess that applies everywhere in a way :emb: It's like when Nintendo refused to use a CD drive in N64 and then when the boss left the new boss had the next machine Gamecube use optical discs. When's the boss of Roland due to retire? :cerious:

Still yet to understand why Roland haven't put out a "true" 303 clone yet seeing as there are so many others doing it... Could be done for cheap/not much with still massive profits.

Definitely. 101, 303, 808 and 909's re-issues would sell pretty well. Same goes for Juno's and Jupiter's. But I guess it won't happen anytime soon... it would discredit all the hardware VA's they have released.

Roland is a lost cause, just look at the fucking jupiters and juno synths they put out lately. It's all shit for eh... I don't understand the target group here... maybe wedding singers?

There's really no reason for me not to buy at least one at that price.
