People have been listening to police scanners since long before the internet...

But I'd be wary of jumping to conclusions based on anything you hear over it. The police are far from infallible, especially in the heat of the moment.

Is there a tl;dr version? As far as I know these guys were planting bombs at an university, got caught by a policemen, killed him, and are now on the run throwing explosives. I don't even know how many of them are and who are they

Wolfe said it looked like the man had been hurt by an “explosive device’’ and that the man was struck by “shrapnel.’’ The man was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m. The hospital officials said they did not know his name.

The night’s chaos began about six hours after law enforcement released images of suspects in Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings that left three people dead and more than 170 wounded.
