fucking hell. heard about this on the radio about an hour or so after it happened.

Luckily my friends in Boston seem to be ok for the time being...hope everyone else is checkin in on any friends or family around those parts. Man this is nasty.

Boston. Fucking horrible.

I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity."

But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.

But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we're lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they're pointed towards darkness.

But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago.

So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, "The good outnumber you, and we always will."

well, it certainly falls under "terrorism", but al qaeda? n. korea? just a few fucked individuals? who knows. Ive heard a few suggest it might even be a right-wing extremist group. it's pretty sickening altogether.

Super poignant. It always makes me sad when people say, "We're all doomed" because of this type of behavior.

Well, they have very little information and have to keep talking and going over the same stuff.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

British ITV and Sky are very similar. Had to stop watching. They almost seemed to be taking glee from it.

I think it's going to be a lonewolf operation, at best "affliated" with a wider extremist ideology but not tied to a group or entity.

Remember the Ft. Hood shooting? A US army officer who communicated with a terrorist leader and had motivations affiliated with his extremist beliefs and noted anti-American harbored resentment to the US military. It was a terrorist attack in it's effect and intention but not a terrorist attack in it's basic concept and widely-accepted definition (that's also pending a trial to confirm).

Now I personally got into an argument with someone who was furious that I didn't immediately refer to it as a terrorist attack, specifically a Islamic fundamentalist terrorist attack, lonewolf or otherwise. I explained why and elaborated that I wasn't trying to downplay his Islamic extremist views, just clarifying that it was not the same as a organized and group affiliated attack. People can get very inconsistent when it comes to these events, and such political intentions to either downplay or likewise exaggerate the meaning of such attacks is a huge problem when it comes to the way media and public officials discuss terrorism of any kind.

all I think of when I watch this bombing is that people in other nations who we will never know experience this level of trauma daily

Also I'm pretty sure it's NOT NK, if it's DPRK related whatsoever I'll be shocked. They have sponsored terrorist attacks in the 70s (and 80s I think) but they were targeting ROK personal and South Korean citizens.

We could be in the Middle East:

BAGHDAD — Attackers struck targets across Iraq on Monday morning, setting a bloody backdrop to the last week of campaigning as Iraqis prepare to vote in local elections on Saturday.

As of midday on Monday, as security officials and medical workers continued to count the dead and wounded, at least 37 people had been killed and more than 140 wounded in nearly 20 separate attacks, mostly car bombings, in Baghdad, Kirkuk, Hilla, Falluja, Nasiriya and Tikrit, according to local officials.

True, I've had the debate many times about why the msm refuse to report these things.

I really don't care much about what happened, I don't live there, so why would it bother me?

It should bother you because this is happening to your fellow humans.

I mean that's why it's bothering other people anyway.

Would you cry for people you don't know? I don't think so, if so, that's pretty stupid and useless.
