. Chris Matthews was doing his best to make this a right wing nut. “It’s usually the far right extremists” he said and went on about Timothy McVeigh. And for Matthews, the icing on the cake was the bomb that went off at the JFK Library “names for a prominent contemporary Democrat” the Hard Ball host pointed out.

Fox is the only news source I've seen that showed the guy who lost both legs. They didn't show the actual legs, but they did show the picture and move across it. Already on their broadcast though I hear so much propaganda.

"We need to fight back and stay strong as Americans"

I feel like I'm back in 2001 again. It is terrifying.

You talking about the lost limbs bro?

Seriously though, what is with all those different flags at the explosion site?

I don't know but whether intentional or not it has a symbolic resonance that is quite eerie. It almost looks like the front of the UN building in NY

Hotel.

sorry to be superficial during a time like this but i think Obama died his hair, it looks way less gray than it did several months ago

FYI the JFK library thing is unrelated. a fire inside the mechanical room.

interesting, Boston PD tweeted a couple hours before during the bombing that they were doing a controlled bomb squad explosion test right across from the library, i wonder if that is related.

Yeah, I heard fire as well, except for like the first time someone said "possible explosion".

Now, they are saying the bombs were on timers.

ABC nightly news headline was so offensive. I admit I watch my local news because they are entertaining. Good ole WFAA. Then the world news ca,e on, like something out of a satire of the news, TERROR AT THE BOSTON MARATHON, with a creepy voice and blood stained font. These terrorists got what they intended. All city officials are scared. The media will be talking about this forever. Love that Oswalt quote.

what is it with the drills on the day of stuff like this? wasn't there a "FEMA test involving small children" on the day of the connecticut shooting, IN the same town? or was that fake?

My uncle actually ran in the marathon but finished before the bombs went off.

Thank god for him being fit, eh?

sheeeeeeit maybe if we write it out in wingdings it will tell us the truth

I dont know, but i think that was wrong information. It looks like either they detonated one of the un-detonated bombs across from the library and or it was a totally unrelated event and just part of normal bomb squad activities? No idea honestly

it's very interesting that Fox News is the only network using the acronym 'IED' which has connotations related to the overall war on terror and Iraq and Afghanistan. MSNBC and ABC are both expanding the acronym to say 'improvised explosive devices'

It's international world-renowned marathon. This is standard practice to hold flags of participants in a sports event like this. It was there because of the finish line.

great timeline of events and various key media reports here

No sorry, it wasn't directed at anyone in this thread. It was just the first thing that comes up when you search "boston marathon flags". Alex Jones' name already being associated with that kind of accusation. i swear that guy is a government plant.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

I have absolutely no doubt that Alex Jones is controlled opposition. Whether he's a government plant or not I really don't know, I just know that he drowns out legitimate critical/skeptical of government theories. The Sandy Hook conspiracies were undoubtedly mostly being spread by his loud megaphone.

I caught it but only after you complained. How about a consolation lol?

guy on MSNBC used the classical definition of terrorism (to my surprise)

"this was either a crime or it was terrorism, and if we find out it's politically motivated it's safe to say this was an act of terrorism"

i think people tend to forget that mass shootings, random bombings, etc were not called 'terrorism' very often until 9/11. It wasn't until the person took credit for it and explained their political motivations was it defined as terrorism
