At least the video footage I have seen shows the explosions IMMEDIATELY followed by people running towards the explosions to help. 99.9% of people in the world are great.

I, for one, am leaning towards the side that the trade centers were an inside Job to push an agenda, either directly or indirectly.

I greatly fear that the USA is behind these attacks in some way as well.

We could be living in a time far worse then Hitler in that the bad guys found out how to get away with the atrocities they do, and make the good guys fight on their side.

I'd like to also add, I don't really live my life in fear or paranoia and am generally an optimist.

So I avoid cable news altogether, getting almost all of my "daily" news from google news. That said my wife and I always throw on the Today Show in the morning while we're making breakfast an d coffee. Oh man - the montages, the inane questions, the unnecessary mention of that Saudi national questioned AGAIN. It's nothing new of course, but geez, the fact that people absorb this kind of news coverage all the time is always so distressing.

didn't read the thread - just want to say while the event itself was obviously quite shitty, the coverage on MSNBC (the first news channel i found when i heard of the bombs) was appalling. there were at least 3 on-air people including chris matthews proclaiming that this was a "sophisticated terrorist" attack before they even knew about the 3rd bomb at the library. matthews himself was spewing garbage about how "this is just what they want, to make us feel uncomfortable in everyday life". at the press conference not 2 minutes before, the cops said they had no leads and no information at that time.

i couldn't help but think of the newsroom episode where all the other networks were reporting giffords dead in tuscon while they wouldn't report until it was confirmed proper.

the coverage on espn was worlds better, the guy they had on the phone even kept emphasizing they had no info on who/why/how, instead of assuming it was joe terrist who just hates freedom.

I lived and went to school 4-5 blocks from there, for 5 years. This hit me pretty hard when I found out yesterday and I'm still feeling a pit in my stomach today. I have friends who are still there, and some of them were in the marathon and others who go every year to cheer on the runners. Thankfully none of them were hurt.

There are a fair amount of people in this thread that can go fuck themselves.

i lived in Boston. Im surprised this didnt happen on the T. Those cars get packed with people and im sure today people are sweating bullets in those things. It makes no sense to me why it was at the race. Except that the person is a coward and didnt want to kill himself and instead chose to place the bomb in a trash can

yeah, no. Boston's my home town, and I visit there frequently, got family and friends all through out.. many in the inner city, one who lived on the streets for some time.. Never once have I heard about or experienced anything neo-nazi. Boston's one of the most liberal, multi-cultural and open-minded cities in the U.S.

Maybe you're thinking of cities in Florida, Texas, or other cities in the midwest? Modern/progressive cities like most major cities in the US will most likely not need to worry about ignorant, blind backlashes.
