A pair of explosions rocks the finish line at the Boston Marathon, injuring at least a half-dozen people.

well again the 'other 2' aren't confirmed. All we know is that Boston PD released a statement saying they were using the bomb squad to detonate a suspicious package across the street from the library. That could just mean they found a suspicious backpack or package in a trashcan. All we know right now is that 2 bombs were blown up at almost the exact same time at the finish line of the Boston marathon. the JFK library fire officially was a coincidental electrical fire, although one of the bomb squad safety measures took place across the street from it, it was unrelated

how coordinated was it in actuality though, they keep saying it was 2 coordinated explosions in the same location but that doesn't take much planning and one person could easily pull that off. the 3rd and 4th bomb reports are unconfirmed. The bomb squad didn't say explicitly that they detonated undetonated bombs, that they just detonated 'suspicious packages'

there isn't anything wrong with using the word terrorism broadly, but i'm pretty sure that the word especially when used by the mainstream media carries a different connotation than how you're using it.

i see what you mean, but ultimately, they were either coordinated or not coordinated. I find it incredibly hard to believe that these were pulled off by a single actor, is all.

and i thought the library one was confirmed? I remember seeing some public announcement from a law official stating that the 4th one was safely disarmed/detonated a few blocks away from the library?

See John's post above.

I've heard fire, bomb, then controlled detonation. Not sure what is the truth. But there were 4 bombs I think and two detonated.

By the way. Ball bearing bombs are not sophisticated.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

check my above post. There is no confirmation that 2 more bombs were actually found, it has been inferred. in 30 minutes from now the Boston PD is expected to make a statement about more potential explosives or devices

ah so they changed the story then? fair enough, the lone wolf idea is more feasible now.

I didn't know if you were talking to me or someone else; i didn't say the devices were sophisticated...figured if they were there would be far more casualties.

I wasn't saying that you were saying they were sophisticated. Just pointing out what seems to be the case in my opinion, or at least some speculation coupled with some small amounts of information.

sort of, initial reports claimed they were actual explosive devices in addition to the bombs at the finish line, now the news is just being vague about it. I think in the heat of the moment they thought it was a very coordinated attack happening in all different locations

edit: they also said 3 people were killed in initial reports, now it's 2

didn't see that yet, where Fox? I'm on msnbc now, where instead of chastising the president for not outright calling it terrorism they're sycophantically lavishing him with praise, lol.

God this pisses me off. Who the fuck bombs a marathon? Honestly, the discipline, motivation, strength and sheer time it takes to run a marathon is fucking astronomical, further than most average people can even fathom because they've never put in anything close to the kind of effort a marathoner does in their daily life alone, especially one who can run a 4 hour marathon.

Makes me fucking sick. What a weak, disgusting person this must have been orchestrated by.

On CNN. It was brief. Black dude, with black sweatshirt, black backpack, walking away or something. Supposedly, when confronted pulled his sweatshirt over his head and walked away.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

What happened on that marathon is terrible, no question about it, but every day die soooo many people and no body is crying for them. Each year, 15 million children die of hunger-related causes.
But i guess it's real only if it's on TV, right?

Right now in the world there's about 50 conflicts that could be qualified as war where innocent people are killed too. How many of those conflicts you know about? We're living in a shell!

18 yrs ago we had war in Croatia and I can tell you it's not fun. While thousands of civilians was dying nobody on the 'west' cried for them but if only one civilian dies in USA or similar the whole planet earth must know about it...and that's how it suppose to be but for every soul on the planet not just for the chosen ones. It's not easy to be objective but I'm glad to see so many of you are trying. I can't tell you if you succeeded cause I'm not sure for myself either. Let's help each other on that road. We, the world, need truth, understanding and love.

ive heard reports on the radio that there is a "person of interest" inside one of the hospitals surrounded by cops. can anyone confirm this?

Yeah, CNN reports a Saudi national is injured inside a hospital. They suspect he could have possibly been responsible and was too close to his own blast.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

I'm not really sure who could have done something like this unless they were some townie that never went to college or something. Most of the young people in Boston are too fucking busy with school to worry about what chemical compounds become untraceable after an explosion...

i doubt this is a terrorist thing

more likely some white male sociopath in his 20s

what if its a Saudi national sociopath in his 20s? would that make it ' a terrorist thing' ?

I can't watch the news. at all. infuriating.

I also refuse to look at images of people missing limbs.

why the fuck would you bomb the spectators of a running event?

before anybody screams 'false flag', an interesting story has come out that one of the coaches, from New Zealand said that it 'appeared to him there was an active threat before the bomb went off'. He witnessed bomb sniffing dogs and announcements being made about a 'training exercise' before the bombing happened.

this could mean many things, but still a meaningful part of the timeline.

It's hard not to wonder about a possible connection.

My cousin ran the marathon today, so I watched her run by several miles away from the finish line. My aunt and uncle were closer to the blast, and said it was fucking horrible, people picking up their kids, screaming, running away. Everyone in my family is okay, but it makes me sick to think of all the people I saw run by who had limbs blown off just a couple of hours later.

somebody during the live Boston PD press conference asked

"is this a false flag event designed to take away our civil liberties"

"no, next question"

flol, i can't believe that got through on live tv, fucking hilarious

Are bomb-sniffing dogs common fare for events like the Boston Marathon?
