PS Triple was my favorite of the last gen consoles, but I was not a fan of the controller's convex sticks & the fact that it usually got the crappier version of multiplatform games. It looks like they fixed my complaints with the controller, and the fact that the 4 is x86 means that the latter problem will be basically nonexistent as well. I think I'm sold on it.

I was saving up to build a gaming PC after having so much fun with Skyrim PC, but letting Sony worry about putting all that shit together plus the benefits of console online matchmaking/the reasonable price point give me the strong hunch I'll be picking one of these up some time next year instead of building a gaming PC. I just hope they release next-gen versions of current gen games in which the PC version is currently superior, such as Skyrim & Bioshock Infinite, with all the graphical options available.

The biggest thing from E3 to stoke my game boner, though, is the tease of there being a Mirror's Edge 2. Fuck yes. Destiny looks quite tight as well. And The Division. And a lot of other things. The computational power behind this gen is making my favorite type of game, sandbox games, the norm instead of the exception, and this makes me very happy. Can't wait to start ignoring objectives and causing chaos in a variety of exceptionally pretty environments.

played Mario Kart 8 at the Best Buy preview, great fun. Mario 3D World wasn't as popular, leading me to think it won't sell nearly as much as Kart. the Donkey Kong game was meh and no one even touched the Wind Waker remake.

I'm really interested in Quantum Break - mostly because I really like Remedy's stuff - but apart from that I'm not really sure that Xbox One has anything to offer right out of the gate... at least for me. Plus, the $100 price difference between PS4 and Xbox One sure is a sales pitch in itself :)

Don't get me wrong, I really love Remedy and every game I've played by them has fantastic so far. They are one of the best developers out there.

But that Quantum Break game looks kind of awful to me. I know kind that might be a bit premature to say, since they haven't showed any gameplay yet, but that live-action stuff they showed at Xbone reveal looked particularly awful and that is going to be a huge part of the game. Looks like some cheesy stuff from the sci-fi channel.

Seems like Microsoft has had a big influence on how this game should look and be. And from what Remedy developers have saying in interviews, it doesn't seem like this is the game they really wanted to make (or maybe I'm just reading that wrong).

And as much as I love to see new IP, I would really have loved to see Alan Wake 2 instead.

The most exciting thing I saw was the Wii Fit Trainer in the next Super Smash Bros!

Hahaha, to be fair I'm not really a Smash Bros fan, but that's quality.

Don't ever watch live-action teasers/trailers for video games. It's like shooting yourself in the face.

There are some news about the game on Kotaku and what it's all about, if you're interested...

Friend went to E3 yesterday. He's a 360 user right now. He said that the Microsoft section was pathetic in terms of set-up and how uneventful it all seemed there. Apparently it was more poppin' at the Sony section. He tried both controllers and likes the feel better with the PS4 controller. He's converting to Sony.

He offered me his E3 pass today, but I'm at work right now :(

I wasn't really sold on Destiny in previous showings of it, but now that they showed the gameplay and the environments in-game, I'm actually excited for it.

Destiny looks like a mix of Halo and Borderlands, only difference is that Destiny is probably going to have superior AI to Borderlands, since it's Bungie making it.

Could be fun.

Apparently, there are multiple reports of Microsoft employees advertising their products at Wii U events taking place in select Best Buy stores this week. One report says a Microsoft employee tried to convince people who were waiting in line to demo a Wii U game to pre-order the Xbox One. According to another report, someone wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the Microsoft logo lingered around the Wii U event and talked to people around a demo station. The next Wii U event at Best Buy this week takes place on Saturday, June 15th.

microsoft did this already like two years ago, and outside of the television kind of like a hologram

yes and there was also stuff on ps3 using the camera. I still think that was a cool video and am not jaded by knowledge of previous attempts at this sort of thing.

i dont think there was anything on ps3 like this. got a link? there was some immersive movie made using hardware not related to the ps3 at all, but used the move controller to operate it.

here is another cool thin about kinect fusion as they call it

yeah, kinect is a nice bit of kit. It's a shame that it's attached to an xbone. heh ;-]
