I got a very FSOL vibe from it too, like it was a early 90s ambient dub mix without the breakbeats - this is even better than I expected! Nice work!

IMO R Plus Seven is hands down one of the freshest electronic albums to come out in a year or two. Makes me a little sad that there is a genre name for this already - I guess it's inevitable for the sound to be categorized and diluted to piss.

I just thought it was a funny concept to just change a track like that. Like, "this Sheryl Crow track is wicked idm if you speed it up and add some chopped up beats over lush pads."

Funny, that's the issue of Wire that I found by googling the other day. I ordered a copy then by the way, so maybe I can get pics or scans sometime soon.

 

Unless someone has/gets a digital subscription, that would be a lot faster.

Actually I think he's talking about EDM trends and trap based on his tweets after, which I would heartily argue is far more vapid and inessential than R Plus 7. Seriously though, all the "success" stories within electronic music, producers like Avicii and Pretty LIghts (both of whom had hits using the same fucking Etta James sample, then used for the hit song "Good Feeling) and countless others I don't even want to bother naming, are far more derivative and even damaging to the progress of electronic music more than even the worse vaporwave. Give me OPNs faux intellectual PR shit over some spammy douchebag making tracks with the same 808 beats, synth stabs, and gimmicky effects we've heard for 20+ years.

After listening to this, I can't really imagine him going after OPN, even if he doesn't get it.

Onatricks point never is a great band that I like a lot. The man called Daniel likes to take synth that made sense in the 80s and make it make sense. In a move of genius Daniel takes sounds that were used once and uses them again because the way people feel.

The song that got a lot of views sounds like cool colors going over a fake jungle in the sunrise. Beautiful but with sad ness. It is a good music to make a cartoon to and loop it a bunch of times. What is brilliant about Daniel is he makes a beat and makes it go for a while then takes it away. So theres no beat for a while.

The vibe I feel from Daniel point cartoon is really good. It sounds like a flute sample from a cassette at goodwill but made to seem like it makes sense. So good!!!! It really takes me back to that time I was in the eighties. Oh boy! Do I know the 80. Daniel is a true mastered mind at feeling what needs to be put in the vibe and delivering. What raytitng to I give this master’s piece
