absurdist in the absurdist comedy sense. look at this perfectly nice film they made

Yeah, this is nice, but it's totally Harmony Korine style in every detail. I would call them calculated rather than absurdist and i'm not a hater.

Harmony Korine's involvement made that video probably far worse than if he wasn't a part of that video project. I really don't know what you guys see in that guy.

/waits for avalanche of fanboi ire. I'm mostly a bater not a hater though.

the problem with being like a parody/satire of something or as people are saying 'taking the piss', is that at some point it just becomes an excuse for why you are doing the same lame things as the people you're satirizing, and getting fans and support due to your doing those things. it's like trying to have it both ways. you get to profit from and have a career built on certain cliches but still have a supposed stance of artistic/intellectual superiority over the very cliches you profit from? how does that work? you can say they are only pretending to be dark and evil as a kind of satire, but the fact remains that they are still using that imagery to define their own image and sell themselves as a product.

you could say these two are just doing satire of white trash gaudy psycho rappers, and that icp actually are white trash gaudy psycho rappers, but really, what is the difference? da and icp would go together almost perfectly in a collab

icp actually wanted to be ninjas over 10yrs before da did

full disclosure: im playing devil's advocate here

Because hipsters.

btw i don't think that they are trying to be more superior than the clichés or whatever, they're just having fun doing whatever, it's more about their fans flailing in the face of a crappy new song.

I'm OK with hate on Korine, he's a bit of a grandiose poseur. The thing is he got chops, you can say it's him immediately in every aspect, visual or contextual, and i enjoy it when something is coming from inland empire, so to say. Even if it's wannabe empire most of the time

I've figured it out... because this is actually an Aphex Twin-produced track JR is trolling us into thinking he hates Die Antwoord so as to keep the surprise... I'm not being manipulated like beerwolf lol (unless he's in on the joke, doubt it). This shits happening and its going to be transcendent. Aphex produces Ugly Boy and the album closes with Max Normal throwback Moon Love... Aphex Album announced shortly after?

Er, no - nothing I have heard from DA so far is remotely in my wheelhouse, and even if Richard did a collaborative track with them, I would hope it would be similar to his other remixes/collabs where he gives them a track he did, and claims it's a remix, etc. Who knows - perhaps Richard got paid mad money for the collab and that's why he did it (who wouldn't turn down mad money - although he has in the past, I'm sure).

JR, he was having them as guest performers to his shows and vice versa. I don't see why he hasn't done just a normal old collab. The type where he's the producer of the track, but not like a total reworking that paints the other performers out of the picture.

I know it ain't gonna happen, but I'm hoping The 'Chard Jams lays down some thick ambiance over which the ninge flows in a relatively free manner before reaching a crescendo and closing out with a thick wall of drukqsy beatz.

It would be the postnatal form of the "Love Is..." embryo, and it would be quite good.

edit: or, alternately, Sean and Rob plz:
