Exactly - Even Richard dabbled in this absurdity (Come To Daddy, Windowlicker), but he didn't build his musical presence on it - it's one thing to do a pisstake here and there, versus fully embracing it as DA has done and allowed it to represent them rather than their music. It speaks to how shallow and not very good their music actually is if they have to mask it in pseudo-gore and hypersexualized imagery.

sorry, I tend to distinguish the convoluted sub-genres of acid/rave music by referring to the superficial performance oriented stuff as acid house and the more serious stuff as acid techno. this is probably offensive to people who hold an affinity for the term house music. but it's just silly acid party music. people are looking into way too much. Like, their music is obviously made to be performed.

Shitload of styles had an acid lead. Acid house wasn't rave or party music, it was experimental edgy "discovered" sub-genre devoid of any usual compromises of party or rave music. All the compositional elements this song uses is more reminiscent of rather cliche-driven acid trance, even a crappy mainstream version of it.

I'll just be glad when this is out, Aphex Twin is NOT featured or has anything to do with this "record", and I can go back to forgetting who and what Die Antwoord is.

Don't get it and never have, I liked the tudor watkin jones solo stuff and quite like his voice in most DA recordings, I just can't get over the spooky-halloween- godawful-rave schtick and antics.
