They don't bother me at all. when they have a new video, I watch it but I've never heard an album in full. Their videos are their main focus anyway right? Nothing to get too worked up about now.

Wise move to sample Aphex at his prime. If it was a new track it wouldn't be up to the standards of the rest of the next level beats on this album.

it's very lame, with the (feat. a**** t***) shit they did on facebook, when it's just a sample of ageispolis...

fuck your desperate pr tactics, cunts

Edited by triachus

yeah that is pretty lame pr tactics. lame to the MAX

next level lame

i predict this album will be a significant nail in the coffin of DA

can a DA exist without the nerds (us) who were first there watching the ninja video, posting it on blogs, linking to it, etc? can they break through to the legit rap fan crowd as it appears they are trying to do here? i doubt

but i have been wrong like a million times

if anything, they shouldve tried to break big into the dance scene. i liked the fink u freeky remix that was in the club scenes in far cry 3 (it worked well in the game, at least) [youtubehd]T5KTa0eMoU0[/youtubehd]

it kinda blows my mind that they haven't had the obvious idea of having like an entire dance oriented remix album come out as a companion to everything they put out. focused more on the rave side of things. kinda like rob zombie's hellbilly deluxe remix album, or white zombie's supersexy swingin' sounds (remix of astrocreep2000), both of which i really liked back in the day.

and so... its' an ageispolis rip off. lol

lol yeah. time for some cash from old tunes... CAT023 is in the same mindset :) smart move mr.aphex; moreover, if ugly boy makes it to the charts, chances are that SAWI is going to increase in sales (I bet it's one of his most steady selling albums tho)

[EDIT]I did not mean to sound sarcastic or mean: I think he is righteously capitalizing on his years of hard work and he is doing it all right. Moreover I think that some kids exploring SAWI after hearing it from DA, it's a good thing.

Edited by pierlu

how did they think they would get away with this clear cut case of bait and switch? nobody likes being bait and switcheded

is the fact that they seem to be capitalizing even more on yolandi's body supposed to make us forget that we were bait and switch victims? why don't they just go all in and have the vids be straight up 100% hardcore porn feat yolandi, since that's the mathematical limit they've been approaching but never seem to reach. at some point you can't really get any closer to thing without actually doing it

or they could just stop since that's apparently all they have left

time to wash off those tats and come up with a new character, i guess

------

IDEA!

we should do a poll here, with a list of possible characters/personas(fursonas?) for ninja/yolandi to step into next

my vote is on them becoming a couple of midwestern high school dropouts from indiana, who work fast food at a denny's, hoping to work their way up the chain and one day be promoted to owner of denny's. as part of their commitment to the role they'd have to come to the US, and work at a dennys in indiana. their supporting crew of misfits in their vids could be stuff like hobos who come into dennys every morning to get warm, random grannies who just like the taste and eat there every day, and crazy grifters/dealers who set up shop and make a corner table their office. but like every vid would take place in a dennys, or outside as ninja (new name: Jerry) is sweeping/picking up trash in the lot

The amount of lameness of the PR-stunt and the result is just off the scale... Even worse then Kanye West sampling Avril 14th.

DA already completely raped Delia Derbyshire's fine Ziw-Zih track, now this. Fuck DA.

this sounds like an airplane landing on a minefield

i think if they hadn't essentially lied with the 'feat A***x T***' thing a while back, and just kept quiet about it, let people find out for themselves that an afx sample was used, it would've been completely different. they fucked up

I think the ugly boy track is awesome. amazing song given more vibes with some lyrics.

also, Mr. E you trying super hard to discredit them and rally people to dislike them. There music is also already ravey/dance oriented. I don't think that the version of I fink you freaky is even remixed.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

Yeah it's ultra lazy, I wonder if it will be an updated version of Ageispolis - the bass drum on that sample sounds heavier than usual...

Then go forth and find the instrumental lol

The percussion track is new. The original doesn't have a short kick and a rim shot. It has a long boomer kick with a snare and a ton of cymbals.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

im not trying to rally anyone to do anything, im just stating my opinion, like you have many times here on many topics. it's a true fact that they essentially lied here, unless when the full track comes out it actually has some afx production that isn't heard in that clip. and really at this point, assuming it doesn't, i'm glad. lying to a bunch of idm nerds about the return of their idol is not a smart move

(and btw you may be taking me too seriously. for example i only ever say idm in jest, don't consider afx my 'idol' and doubt everyone here who likes his stuff would say that they do, and that whole thing about dennys was me trying to be funny, and i still think some of their vids/tracks are creative/funny, although it has always very much been a novelty act, with weird al being one of the very few of those that ever enjoyed continued success, which is probably the exact reason they've had to change personas in the past).

I don't really consider it a bait in switch to advertise a remixed version of an aphex twin track as a ft. I also don't really care especially given that anyone can listen to the track before they buy it. Oh well, they wanted more attention to their product. I don't hate them for that.
