Yeah I had been listenign to the 1st recording nonstop since it was posted and this new one is downright jizzerific. Competely new details vibe.

This stuff better be quasi on the new album.. I actually get a bit of a EP7/Peel Session 2 metallic melody + Exai relentless dark percussion texture vibe.

Also the one thing I recognize is at 23:00 on first recording and about 20:00 on 2nd recording is the effect during main part of Syptixed.

OK, this new recording is definitely recorded close to one of the speakers (therefore the bass clarity and less room tone) as some panned sounds are much less prominent than on eclipsis' recording. And because eclipsis was in the middle under the small frontal speaker that was there.

So both recordings has their strengths and weaknesses.

Here you go, they say what they used on the link to download the mp3...

All new 2014 Autechre live show debuted at 25 years of Warp celebration party held in the abandoned hotel Forum in Krakow, Poland, as part of Sacrum Profanum festival.

Recorded with Zoom H2n in mid side recording mode (XY + Center microphone setup) at 44.1khz, 16bit, Stereo. Captured and processed by DSPH Sounds crew.
Enjoy!

Yeah, I've read that but that is just about the gear they used for it. The XY + Center microphone setup is, I believe, setup of the mics on the Zoom H2n itself. So the description does not say where in the room they were positioned with it.

The only thing I don't like about the second bootleg is the pan issues that exist in the first 20 minutes or so. I would almost rather mix them into mono and have them equally balanced from there. Seems like the mic was pointed laterally at first and eventually gets pointed directly towards the stage.

Well, there were automated panning effects done by Ae themselves (dunno why, does not make much sense in such conditions) during the show so it might be even due to that.

Oh right, fair enough, I have no idea about such things. Still need to listen to this recording actually.

section starting at about 30:40 (in the New Kraekow bootleg) is insane. The kid screaming at 32:36 blended so well into the pattern, he must have somehow got banged by Ae's Max patch.

Thank you uploaders, wattmers, Autechres, eclipses

Ha ha! That is exactly my favourite moment too (so we have much in common, don't you think? ). That particular rhythmic fill is so fucking amazing and the kid is really a part of the composition. Love it.

shhh, autechre don't like to boil down their synthesis methods that specifically (even when its audibly obvious). When i repeatedly asked them about physical modeling synthesis, they refused the very premise of the question.

That's pretty cool if you're not bullshitting, either way the result sounds the same as physical modeling synthesis to me.

For example

"known(1) happened cos i was messing with tuning and karplus-strong, and i liked the way the upper octaves were sounding"
